Trump broke the promises to the Kurds who had lost over 10k men in their fight against ISIS and basically allowed the Turks to genocide them with no repercussions and pulled out of Syria entirely, allowing Assad to remain in power for longer and depriving the US of a key ally in the region forever. Absolutely ridiculous that Trump would rather General Mattis resign than to listen to him and honour the alliance with the Kurds by doing the bare minimum which was to maintain a small presence in Syria. Had Trump had the Kurdish forces, it is not unlikely that they would have toppled the Ayatollah by now seeing as they have tens or hundreds of thousands of harderned fighters from decades of war.
