Universal basic income is inevitable because the rich can no longer convince excess males to die at war nor work for pennies at make-work projects. The only solution is to give them bread and circuses through universal basic income so that these males with nothing to lose don't come and kill the rich. The rich will gladly give up a portion of their wealth to keep this population placated perpetually. If you believe the rich won't do it because it benefits the lower class, you misunderstand their motives. UBI shackles the aimless male to the state so he will never oppose it.
