>Half of america still earns 50k on average just like 60 years ago.

This graph has to be adjusted for inflation. If you don't realize that you're too retarded to be posting about economics. $50,000 in 1965 was the equivalent of $518,000 today. The middle class obviously weren't that rich in 1965.

What the graph is actually telling you is that the middle and lower classes wages haven't gained relative to inflation while the upper class has.

TLDR: You're retarded.
>>
>>532791527
Did you live 60 years ago?
>>
>>532791008
Yes, adjusted for inflation income has remained the same for 60 years while the cost of houses (also adjusted for inflation) has done like 10x in the same amount of time. This is the #1 complaint of burgers under 50 years old but unfortunately only burgers over 50 run this fucked up country.
>>
>>532791008
Pretty sure the average income 60 years ago was like $30k. Not saying $50k is even decent bc it's still poverty
>>
>>532791008
People work very hard to keep it that way.
Everytime people need more workers, wages would go up. Instead the owners (investors) and businesses lobby the government to import more labour. This keeps wages down while asset values increase (elites benefolit from this).

The question though is where all that money is even going.
It's clearly not to the 90th percentile. They might be making almost twice as much, but they are also only 10%. Their increased income is not soaking up all the extra productivity.
>>
>>532791730
He is not retarded. You are. If the wage hasn't changed relative to inflation, his wage is the same.
>>
>>532791730
>$50,000 in 1965 was the equivalent of $518,000 today. The middle class obviously weren't that rich in 1965
Nigga done went and forgot to adjust ALL prices for inflation. Ifn'igga out here in 1952 taking raking in $50,000 a year that’s a whole lot of $0.02 packs of gum. Same for everything else, including a house and a car and child care and education and medicine. They were EXACTLY that wealthy, you just don’t have a point of reference for exactly what we’ve lost through inflation.

Capital. Simple as. The richest American in 1991 had only 6 billion $, the richest American today is Musk with his $800 billions and he might become a trillionaire within several years, the first trillionaire in history. And Americans STILL bootlick him and the Trump's buddies, that cattle is comparable only to Russians in their servility
>>
>>532791008
That's exact;y why they are so frustrated and voting for populist billionaires who claim to come up for the average Joe's but only care about the rich Jews of course.
>>
>>532792352
There are pro-poor populists like Warren or Sanders, the Ameritards vote for actual billionaires that never worked a day in their life for a salary only because Americans a servile cattle literally worshipping the rich
>>

I remember my college engineering professor said this to me, he basically said what he made at his end of the career was the same as he started with if you account for inflation.
>>
>>532791008
Literally any one starting out at my job makes significantly more than that and I work in a factory in the south. What the fuck are people doing?

Yes, "income" here likely only means income from wages.
But globally all investors combines earn slightly more money than all workers combined.
So the chart doesn't show more than half of all the wealth added annually.
>>
>>532791008
That's in 2016 dollars you retard.
>>
>>532791008
This is why you use the median, not the average
Every Statistik about income with "average" instead of "median" is propaganda

if our government used a realistic $ amount for the poverty level, the world would be shocked at how poor we are as a country.
