Why shouldn't someone working at McDonald's be able to afford a place to live and food?
>>
Because Israel needs more money
>>
>>532808097
They can do that already
>>
>>532808097
>Entry level job with no qualifications
I want to raise a family, buy a mansion house, have cable tv, new iPhone, not work hard, vacation every month, go clubbing, buy slut outfits, etc, etc., and expect any job to do that for me.
>>
>>532808097
>shouldn't

>never will
With the cost of living, you can't live on your own pretty much anywhere in the country for under about $60k/year, bare minimum. I'm not counting a handful of places because you can't fucking legislate for edge cases.
This is enough to give you barebones subsistence level living without subsidy from the government. It also doesn't let you save very much.
>You can't live for less?!
You probably can, barely, if you look really hard and make absolutely every penny as efficient as possible, save slightly more than someone else, or live slightly more comfortably instead.
$60k/year is $30/hour. Nobody is going to pay a McDonald's worker that unless they're management. By the time McDonald's starts paying that much, you will need to make $45/hour in order to live.
I constantly laugh at the #fightforfifteen niggers because it's laughably low pay.

A one bedroom apartment in Los Angeles costs over $2000.
>>
>>532808097
Because you have to pay for welfare for the neet, single moms and the banking class.
Gov spending was 8% of GDP in 1900. Now its more than 40%. You literally voted for this.

>without subsidy from the government
I wouldn't rule it out except republicans don't want those to exist or if they do out should be part of some humiliation ritual.
>>
>>532808097
No one following orders is to feel any better. I know your niggers are 7'2 feets tall but why are they always so uncomfortable around me? In your narrative wasn't I the one to feel uncomfortable here?

they should. We should kill all the politicians and the bankers and billionaires who have destroyed society. I stand with the true radical communists on this issue.

McDonalds was never supposed to be a lifetime career, unless you worked in management. It was supposed to be a job for teenagers entering the workforce so they could gain experience. But because of kikes importing browns and driving up the cost of everything, people have become dependent on the most menial of jobs just to survive. This is why they expect a living wage flipping burgers.

They can. They simply think renting a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house on a McDonalds salary is sustainable. Hint, it isn't. You tailor your living conditions to the amount of income you have. Want better conditions? Make more money. Get a skill that's in demand. Get a job that's in demand. McDonalds is not the career you think it is
>>
>>532808097
As usual, the truth is in the middle. Yes, minimum wage should be a livable wage that affords you the ability to put a roof over your head and feed yourself. However, younger generations also feel very entitled to a higher standard of living that a "bare minimum livable wage" wouldn't afford. That roof over your head is probably going to be a shitty apartment in a bad part of town, not a luxury condo. Your car is going to be a used clunker, not a new luxury car. Minimum is minimum.

Your problem is that you feel McDonald's workers are entitled to a single apartment for themselves. They cannot afford that, which is why they need roommates, preferably other McDonald's workers at their same restaurant so they can commute together to save money for a house.

Their circumstances should be a giant motivation for them to work harder to get that not to stay at McDonald's til they are 60.
>>
They should be able to. A minimum wage worker should at least be able to afford a one bedroom apartment. Housing needs to be in line with wages

T. Used to work literally at McDonalds when I was in highschool. After about 8 months of slaving away at that piece of shit, I used my experience to get a better paying job at an actual restaurant. After about 6 months of that I used my impeccable work history to get a job in the trades. Graduated, stayed in the trades, got a raise to $20/hour because I was reliable and good at it, started my own company at 27, saved all my money, quit construction, went back to college for engineering at 30 and now make $150k/ year at 35.
McDonalds is a SHIT job. It doesn't require any thinking and everything is nearly automated to the point that the only thing it needs is warm bodies. Even downies work there. If you can't get a better job after school than McDonalds you may as well have downs syndrome. If you eat at McDonalds you may as well have downs syndrome.
McDonalds is not a real job. Its a stepping stone for young people to prove they can be reliable to get a better job and if you aren't using it for that then good luck because life is hard. I never expected to make more than minimum wage working at CuckDonalds (16 years old) because it was piss easy and awful which prompted me to change gears and do more.

"Real jobs" are impossibly gate kept, be it the billion years experience plus connections plus 10000 applications needed with a degree or all the nepotism and union bullshit to do blue collar bullshit that will wreck your health. Some tradies roll in money while others dig ditches and are fucking tarbabies mopping roofs on 100 degree days covered in burns and tar for pocket change. No fucking rhyme or reason, no meritocracy just lucky boomers coasting along that pulled the ladder up behind them or those who won the roll of the dice that is employment.

Thats the employment pill.
>>
>>532815169
McDonalds pays like $14/hr around starting where I live. No one is making minimum wage anymore, anon. I will agree that rent is high compared to 20 years ago but thats because the FED keeps printing fucking money. I watched building materials triple in price over the years I was a tradie which is why rent/insurance etc is ridiculous. When some rentoid destroys a kitchen or bathroom it costs a lot to fix. Plus, you have to paint, change the carpet and locks etc with each new renter which is expensive now. Its hard to tell if everyone that is assuming minimum wage has ever had a job or just completely out of touch with reality.
>>
>>532815875
$14 per hour is the de facto minimum wage in most of America. You won't find a job offering less than that outside of the poorest states.
>>
>>532808097
Because they're cattle. All goys shouldn't be allowed property. They shouldn't even live long enough to consider it, their job is to serve until they die. Quickly if we get them doing real work and not just meaningless activity to keep them preoccupied.
>>
>>532815821
This isnt the case at all. This is some made up shit. I never even worked for a union. If you're willing to learn, show up on time, and are willing to buy some tools, you can get a job as a carpenter pretty damn easily. Its just intimidating to some people because you cant be a little bitch all the time about everything. You have to roll with the punches and take shit from the older guys for a while until you can actually be trusted to install, for example, a window without shitting the bed. And even then someone is going to check your work and show you how its done. Carpentry kinda sucks because it doesnt pay as well electrical or mechanical but when the god-tier skills you learn translate to many many other professions and being able to save you tons of money when you actually buy a house.
>>
>>532815821
That's the same anywhere in the world. Nepotism and gatekeeping. Some doofuses act like everybody can become a general manager if they just worked harder. Duh, no. There's always going to be 50 low-paid wagies and 1 general manager, no matter how hard the wagies grind away.
>>
>>532815346
Here’s the thing, back in the mid 00s when I was 18 I had a minimum wage full time job and could afford to rent my own apartment. If I lived in that same area today working 16 dollars an hour it would be unaffordable.
>>
>>532815875
When I worked at shitdonalds I made $7.25/hr. It fucking sucked. Thats why I only stuck around long enough until I get another job making more with the experience. Even 16 year old me knew to get my poop in a group if I wanted a less shit job making more.
>>
>>532815695
>increase population
This is mostly never a bad thing. Immigration doesn't mean letting infinite people in.
>keep housing largely the same
>keep jobs largely the same
This isn't immigrants fault.
>>
>>532816223
Man, where I live everyone is a half-assed carpenter handyman type and popping opioids and not really getting ahead, yet there are trades like lineman that make six figures out there but there's a lot more leveling up needed for some slob off the street to get to that income. There's always some way of controlling the supply of workers to keep pay up for those that are already in.

Lotta Mexicans out there too and they are doing so much of this shit - yeah the workmanship is shit but cheapskate homeowners don't care.
>>
>>532816294
Rent definitely doubled. I checked my first apartment i had in 2008 and it went from 600/mo to $1200. Quickmaffs, with a roommate you could afford that with 1200/mo to spare working full time at 14/hr after taxes and you will get back all your federal taxes at the end of the year and maybe some state. You also qualify for food stamps, Medicare etc.

If McDonald's does not pay you enough, then find another job.
If enough people refuse to work there, they will be forced to offer more money.
Nobody is entitled to food or shelter, as these things require effort to produce.
If the value of your labor is insufficient to afford these things, then that is a skill issue.
In nature, animals that cannot find food starve, and those that cannot find shelter freeze.
Life is cruel, get used to it.

That's not what's happening. They're just closing locations/ moving elsewhere. They won't even lower the cost of the fucking slop they sell. They don't give a shit about paying their employees more. And if the law forces them to, then they just cut hours.
>>
>>532813478
Anon is pointing out that the cost of living in LA is absurdly and unrealistically high. It sucks if you are rooted there and haven’t found a way to be significantly overpaid to keep up or inherited a lot of wealth. A lot of the white middle class southern Californians had middle class parents who were significantly overpaid but also started out with cheaper housing. Despite being middle class and having jobs that were not anything special, their income level anywhere else in the country would be considered rich (or upper middle class at the least). Even millennials inheriting these houses can’t afford the taxes and can’t afford to keep up. It’s pricing you out. Your only realistic choice is to move even to more northern rural California where the cost of living and housing is more normal. It will not change otherwise.
>>
>>532817325
>If McDonald's does not pay you enough, then find another job.
>If enough people refuse to work there, they will be forced to offer more money.
Of course all of this is correct in theory and sounds great on paper, but we have seen the reality of why this doesn't work. People as a general whole are too disorganized and don't work together to use their numbers to effectuate these sorts of changes. Then you factor in things like the constant importing of cheap, often illegal labor, and it becomes absolutely impossible. There will always be someone willing to take that minimum wage job, even if they have to come from Mexico to do it.
>>
>>532816808
The minimum wage where you live must have been like 50-100% higher than where I was living. That would have been half of what I was taking home.
>>
>>532817325
Material prices are insanely high which makes shitboxes incredibly expensive. I built an 1800sqft shitbox for like 80k total in 2016 with a friend of mine but that would cost 200k now.
It really isnt about the government. No one wants to build houses because its not that profitable.
>>
>>532817709
It was more like 40%, above 1/3 but less than half, and I lived in a state without state income tax. Rent roughly doubled but the cheapest units have almost tripled and pay didn’t, and the cost of everything else is more expensive now too. You could live poor back then and figure out how to not have a roommate but now you can’t
>>
>>532809290
Depends on the money generated by the job. If you work full time to generate $30 then no, you don’t deserve that. However fast food workers do generate profits, and should be paid accordingly. If we actually made it so corporations had to pay say, 75% of REAL hourly profits to the employees, I bet a lot of people would be shocked by these “low skill” workers pay. Low skill is a psyop to convince boomers to pay shit wages.
>>
>>532817694
This may be anecdotal but I hired genz guys and a lot of them quit to work fast food because "its easier and pays about the same". Its like, yea, but if you stop showing up late and high and I can trust you do more than clean up trash and hump material I would pay you more. "You're a try hard, yo".
Some people are just fucking retarded. Im not ragging on gen z but this was a common conversation. Working fast food doesn't even teach you to cook. It doesn't teach you anything other than working in fast food sucks balls.

Because they work at fucking McDonald’s that why!

>>
What sort of place. According to the job it usually has never afforded a 'nice' apartment or house with one income. Where you live and what type of house matters. Since you can work w2 legally at 14, that's when you start this job. At 18 you have 4 years experience in all kinds of skills that translates to other work or advancing within the company. If you are waiting until 28 for your first entry level job you can advance but you are almost 30y into a 60y viability span. It's later than you think. Only in America do you believe the least amount of effort should yield grand results on the cheap simply because you exist.

This is a massive problem. Weed is so strong now days that its basically a day wrecker. It totally nukes motivation and makes people content with being a mundane low-effort pleb. Anyone that says otherwise is full on coping. Weed can help with creativity when you already have something established that you love doing but when you're a pleb all its going to do is nuke your motivation to do shit you don't want to do which ends up being things like taking a shower, finding a better job, and cleaning your room/penis (literally and metaphorically).

Why? They will OD or whore themselves out. Welfare is a slow descent into hell. We all know the leadass who at 40 has bad teeth, 2 sets of clothes and a shitbox; it sucks, and 5heir nice guys, but they aren’t my kids or societies responsibility.

You throw around boomer like it is a pejorative; everything you still need to do, I have done. Step up and take your best cut at the ball, the world will see what you’re made of. My guess is you still think someone owes you something, that is why you are a nigger.

Guess what? All the techbro capital investment in AI and robots will then put all these proud, haughty "mUh J0B!" wagies on the unemployment line, redundant and thus on the next cattle car to The Pods. The youngest gen z is 18 years old. Theyre either in college or should be working to get some experience. If you arent making 30k at 25 you quite literally need to get it together and start doing things you really don't want to do. 30k is like $15 an hour lol. 30k is poverty tier but you can 100% afford an apartment anywhere in the u.s with that. It just might not be that nice.
The fact that zooms want to call everyone a boomer that points this out is weird. Im a millenial FYI. I was making more than 30k a year when I was 22 without a college education. I just did shit I didn't want to do and saved money instead of blowing it on bullshit.

That's not it at all.
Shitbag investors and speculators buy property, flip houses. This keeps all nearby property more expensive too.

McDonalds used to hire a lot of teens as their first working experience. They could pay them minimum wage and not worry about it because the teens lived with their parents. Then some asshat put it into teens' heads that working at McDonalds was beneath them (a McJob) and so they had to hire adults and immigrants to fill the jobs.

Working at McDonalds unless you're a manager or higher isn't meant to be worth a living wage.

No. This is simply not true, especially not after you adjust for inflation and certainly not when you compare real income to cost of living. Every single study shows this to be wrong and it's not even close. The fact that this is your belief system is exactly my point about how out of touch you are with the current reality.

>keep housing largely the same
>keep jobs largely the same
While immigration is obviously out of control, these are mostly due to regulatory capture. People who already own houses (middle/upper middle class/rich people) benefit from housing being scarce as their owned property increases in value more and more. Its people who have to enter the housing market who get fucked, and who usually have the least power to change this.
Imagine buying a house for 400k and then finding out government relaxed the rules for building/plans to build a billion houses, what does that do to the price of your house and the future prospects of your investment? Now multiply that by the entire economy and you see the problem
>>

Brother, do you think we werent in the death-grip of inflation in the mid/late 2000s when minimum wage was $7.25/hr? My cellphone bill was $70/month. Gas was like $5/gal. My rent was $600/month. My car note was $250/month. Insurance was $150/month. Groceries were maybe half but I couldnt go grab a McDonald's gig at $14+/hr while getting free state money to go to college. Fuck, I had to get a scholarship by winning a national competition for innovation to even consider college.
Zoomers, where you live can go grab any shit job and make $21/hr. Thats nearly 3x the pay these same jobs were paying when we were their age.

Maybe that's a problem for the government and not private industry. The free market regulating the prices of housing isn't working to the benefit of the people, and the purpose of allowing the free market to function was to maximize the benefit to the people in availablity and cost.
