oh noooooooooooo people got fired from their useless jobs that provide nothing to anyone ever
don't worry there will be a job for you very soon, you don't even have to send CV or anything, you're gonna learn a lot of actually useful skills and provide something for yourself, your country and your family, you won't be depressed anymore, it's gonna be great
>>
>>532811377
the people they're targeting are too old for service. when shit like this happens they want to cut as many 40-50 year olds as possible (they're no longer as productive) and keep their young fresh blood unless they're worthless retards that can't / won't learn.

This is either fake or first being reported on right here

They're likely eligible for severance and COBRA. The first "Voluntary" batch gets the most, and everyone else basically gets jack shit after that. It's really not a bad idea if you are fairly capable at job hunting
>>
They aren’t publicly announcing it. Looks to be a screenshot from an employee’s computer.

this, also Xerox having just bought Lexmark probably has alot to do with it too

>Voluntarily quit
>Get 6 weeks of pay (if they even bother)
and spend 3-12+ months looking for a new job

Or

>Get fired
>Eligible for unemployment, potential for wrongful firing lawsuit
>Get 3-6 months of unemployment depending on your state
>Spend 3-12+ months looking for a new job

CEOs and HR cunts are retards.

>>532812087
You get unemployment and COBRA if you get laid off too.

my job did this around covid, many people took it, got 1 years pay and the will NOT be allowed to work here again....until they found out some of the people were essential and they didnt train anyone so they got a years pay then hired back on again after a couple months. I should of took it too or at least inquire about it heavily to see if they get scared.
>>
>>532818699
this, always always take the deal
you want to seem like you're eager to leave and are confident that you can either find a new job or retire early.
you don't want to seem like you're desperate to stay and like you won't ever find a new job ever again.

Xerox, or a division of Xerox, got paid $200,000,000 , to create a fare system for Philadelphia’s public transit agency, Septa, called the Septa Key Card.
The product that was delivered was a poorly designed, poorly functional piece of shit.
The actual cards issued for fare use had RFID technology that would die a couple years before the actual card’s expiration date.
The scanners used on busses could scan the week signals from the cards.
Multiple riders could not be paid for with the same card.
There were a bunch of other issues.
It took about a decade gor the problems to get fixed, to make a functioning product, by which point, Septa had already announced they would eventually replace the system with something else. Part of the point of Septa hiring Xerox, was that Septa would own the product, and be able to sell the Key card system to other transit agencies, which of course never happened.
Supposedly Xerox had too much work on their hands for the contract and subcontracted the work out to a third party.

This kinda thing is a sure sign you should immediately start shopping around and networking for a new position. Even if you are not really interesting in moving on, the corporation has its own priorities and you are not privy to the reality of the why. So you could be looking at multiple waves of layoffs, and its a major sign you won't be getting any bonus's or raises no matter your performance. So by the time they figure it all out, it'll be a couple years down the line.

So while you've a steady check, walk out the door. You are under no obligation to them ultimately, and if you do find a new place AND you get a severance for nothing, great deal.

Or you can stick around and see when you end up training your jeet replacement and get nothing and a sudden firing on a friday without notice. Just consider this your notice.

Just fucking make a useable product that doesn't induce aneurysms that encourage people to trash their printer and go to the library instead when they need a page printed.

Since about 2020 the company has gone through multiple layoffs every year. They have no idea who does what and we’ve lost people who were the only ones trained on certain systems.

I been there the 2nd longest in my dept, called a genius by my boss. Since covid i had responsibilities taken away, less access to print servers, etc.. i sometimes go weeks without seeing/talking to my supervisor let alone our boss, i sit for hours on my phone before a ticket comes in to replace a monitor then I get praised like I invented free energy, then back to sitting down. I don't get raises, don't get written up, don't get yelled at, nothing happens, i go to work then go home with maybe a new mouse or "fix" their excel problem. its weird but hey free easy money

Not sure how they do things in Pollackistan, but part of the point of creating excess bounty with the "non bullshit" jobs, is to allow all the branches and leaves and fruit of the economic tree to expand out as they please. They have the right to experiment and perform jobs that you label "useless jobs that provide nothing to anyone ever."
If your economy can support bullshit jobs, that's a sign it's thriving so well you can afford to experiment.
If all your economy can support is basic agriculture, fracking, mining, fishing, etc. then you might be thriving, but you're still stunted.
It's a blessing to live in a world where there's so much excess gluttony of labor and resources that people can perform bullshit experimental jobs, even if they end up failing.
So yes, you're right to say its a useless job after-the-fact, but maybe you're potentially jealous that we have the resources to throw into such frivolous endeavors without it completely tanking our economy.
If you have gainful employment yourself, why chastise others who are simply trying to find work to survive? Maybe the people working the "useless" job were using it as a stop-gap - a cork to plug a leaky hole in their boat so they could stabilize their life and find something more rewarding. This automatic attitude that people who work those bullshit jobs are worthless people and should die or whatever is absolutely retarded. Yeah it's funny sometimes, but I get the feeling some of you niggers actually believe that.
