The only 2 large cities that have had anything other than Democrat run politics for the past 50 years are Oklahoma City, OK, and Miami, Florida. That's literally it. Every other major city has been ruled by Democrats since the white flight of the 60s and 70s. Often the Democrat rule started before then, in the 1950s. That's what happened to St. Louis. Had 800k+ people in the 1950s, now after over half a century of Democrat rule, has about 250k people. And nothing has gotten better in that time, literally every single thing about the city from infrastructure to crime has gotten worse. But will the people there ever vote for another party? NoUnfortunately, I think the solution here might be for more rational people, or conservative types, to run as Democrats and try to infiltrate the Democrat party. The Republican Party does not care to put up a meaningful fight against Democrats in urban areas or in local politics. As long as they control the rural areas, and they have chance at control of Congress and state legislatures, that's all they care about.
