the ascent module weighed 10,300 pounds on Earth and 1,717 pounds on the moon. You can figure out for yourself how much sustained force is needed to lift 1,717 lbs into orbit and see for yourself it that force was applied here.

>you would need almost 2x the mass of your payload in terms of rocket fuel (to take off from the moon)
ascent stage:
Dry weight: 4,740 lbs
Propellant: 5,187 lbs
ratio: 1.09
oops
>>
>>532842564
That was assuming a significantly slower fuel burn.
I don't know what fuel they used. But grok said the propellant velocity comes anywhere from 2000 m/s to 4500 m/s.
If you assume 4000 m/s, the ratio is only 60%. However if you use a slower propellant, you could need as much as 170%.

I just did that as an exercise to demonstrate, that even using a significantly weaker fuel, you can still easily launch off the moon.

Also this assumes the ascent-time is 10 minutes. I actually don't know how long it takes. If you could do it in 5 minutes you'd need even less than 60%.

What you said, the propellant being around equal to the payload, is perfectly within tolerance.
>>
>>532841427
The craft that was orbiting the moon at thousands of miles per hour hooked up with the ascending lunar module as it was blasting off. A mere millisecond of divergence and it would have simply gone off into space, never to be heard from again. This happened perfectly 6 times. If you don't believe this you're a crazy conspiracy theorist.

>>532842838
the assent module was hypergolic with no throttle, it had about 3100m/s exhaust velocity.
it could burn for around 7 minutes.
basically it had just enough to get to orbit with a small margin
>>
>>532841427
Pretty sure it was stage left
>>
>>532843221
>hypergolic
hypergolic doesn't mean its magic, it means you need to take your own oxygen as there isn't any on the moon. that means the propellant you do take is less effective by weight ratio as to what performance you would get on Earth from non-hypergolic fuel.

The guy working the camera was too slow on the first mission and it launched before he panned up.

The lunar rover on Apollo 15, 16 and 17 all had a remotely-operable TV camera
The astronauts were instructed to park the rover a certain distance away and the commands were relayed from Mission Control
Because of time lag, the motion was preplanned ahead of time and issued 2 seconds ahead of the countdown

On Apollo 15 the tilt mechanism malfunctioned
On Apollo 16 the rover was parked too close, so the planned controls did not keep the ascent stage centered
They got it (mostly) right on Apollo 17

Congratulations, you get to learn how they did color television on the moon when their camera was black and white!

During the launch of the Lunar Module of Apollo 17, various particles can be seen being blown away.
Interestingly, some are red, some are green, and some are blue.
Why? The color camera installed on the Lunar Rover that filmed the ascent had a rapidly rotating color wheel between the lens and the image sensor.
The camera recorded the three color channels red, green and blue (RGB) separately.
Then the signals were mixed together. The three colors were recorded at a rate of 20 times per second.

The NTSC standard runs at 30 frames per second.
So if the color channels are refreshed only 20 times per second, the images will be displayed faster than the color refresh rate.
Therefore, these were monochrome images.

There was no live broadcast from the moon. It was faked. They used a camera on Earth pointed to a TV that was playing a scene shot in a studio, hence the uber-low quality even for the standards of the time.

The Apollo Missions were faked.

The strongest proof for me was the first press conference after the 3 astronauts came "back." They're all sitting there BROODING and looking extremely uncomfortable. This is consistent with the theoy that their superiors told them to defeat the commies and save America they needed to go along with the lie, and if they did that they would be left alone.

The 3 men were hoodwinked, and what you're seeing is them wrestling with their consciences while being praised for something they did not do.

Totally a normal reaction from a man who supposedly just achieved a new level of human progress no one thought possible even 100 years earlier. I've never heard a response to this by NASA bootlickers but I'd imagine they'd just say they were tired.

Think about it though. These guys signed up for the mission. No one died during the "mission." They wanted to do it. They believed in the mission. They should be ecstatic, smiling, overcome with positive emotions. Instead they're dismissive, brooding, and give off signs of apprehension and discomfort.

Inb4 some bootlicker says they were suffering from some post-space fatigue syndrome due to the zero-g lol.

There has been an absolute metric shit ton of denying that we went to the moon online over the past 2-5 years with things ramping up drastically over the past two years really.
I think this current "moon mission" is a way to try to put peoples doubts to rest and push some propaganda that we are the best and most mighty space program on earth.
I also think this "moon mission" is completely fake just like the late 60s and early 70s moon missions. The pictures in the early moon missions were faked and are still to this day on Nasas official site as actual pictures that we went to the moon even though many of them are obviously photoshopped fakes and duplicates most likely in a set. The social media push this past week has been astronomical, including fags like you who are paid to try to talk down about people denying the moon missions. The social media push has been outrageous and has got to cost a metric fortune to get that many people and bots to all follow along with the same narrative.

That's a common theme with the conspiratards - they never actually say what they claim, they just post random images and make you guess and interpret their intention
It's social engineering at its finest

I think he's trying to say that the mountain changes drastically in the background while objects in the foreground don't change
But in looking at the two image sources, it's pretty clear he's skewed them from the originals to fit his narrative
In reality, the two images are quite consistent with each other

It is simple. That aluminum foil and paper mache model blasted off the surface. We aren't exactly sure what type of film-to-digital-to-packet-relay system was in place to get the footage down to Earth. We are too busy being impressed by the automatic motion tracking system on the camera because I don't remember reading that they forgot anyone.

It rises and 'docks' with the command module piloted by Michael Collins who had been orbiting the moon while they were playing golf and jumping the rover over moon dunes. The cool thing is it somehow docks with the command module that is travelling at 3600mph orbiting the moon.

You dont have to try to explain it to me
I have seen all i need to see with the "lunar rover" which was tin foil, construction paper, and paper towel rolls hodge podged together. The official NASA pictures are clearly photoshopped because when you overlay some of them, they are clearly the same foreground, or background with pieces edited to appear as if its a new picture.
You can deny all you want but anyone with eyeballs and more than 3 brain cells bouncing around in their head can see that the moon shit is fake as fuck

Notice how some of those shills post often (they are in every thread you're in and you miss a shit ton of threads so what are the odds that you accidentally run into each other, therefore they are only not shilling when they sleep), they post a lot (usually 30+ posts per thread about a subject they say is ridiculous yet they pursue it passionately) yet with all that posting almost none of their posts have picrels so they are not interested in the subject enough to have infographics yet they post and they post. i think why they never want to get a good picture of this is because of it sitting in solar radiation for that long. the flag is likely gone/in tatters and the lander may even be in poor shape by now.

There was every motive to fake the landing. The cold war was raging, after all. By the mid 1960s the leadership realized putting a man on the moon was simply not possible with the technology of the time. At some point the leadership was convinced a fake could be pulled off rather than the US abandoning the project and looking weak.

These pictures show that NASA used the same foreground, the same "set" with rocks placed in a specific place along with a small "crater" to the far left. The dimensions and placement of the crater and rocks highlighted by the arrows does not change meaning the "camera" was in the same location but the mountain in the background is triple the size from one picture to another. This means the background was photoshopped to appear larger on this "set" in one photo versus the other

>>532848148
These pictures show the same background, same rocks and wash/canyon to the right but the foreground is edited. This picture was edited in a manner where they either placed the large rock on the left or used the foreground from another picture and photoshopped it in.

>>532846120
these pictures show the same background, the same mountain with a different foreground for each picture. One picture shows a large rock formation and the other picture shows the fake lunar lander and moon rover buggy. These pictures are simply edited photoshopped fakes meant to make you believe we ackshually went to the moon.

It's phone to radio.
Radio stations probably play thousands of phone calls every day. They have for decades. It's not hard. The other direction isn't that hard either. You patch one audio signal into another.
>>
>>532843793
no. the delay makes intervention like pointing the camera meaningless, and if you have to anticipate, you have already done the calculation needed for a programmed tracking. what you probably are mistaking for 'controlled from earth' here is that the camera was linked to earth so that if anything untoward happened during launch, or later, the footage would be available.

The "momentum" being "conserved" accounts for the space craft and the fuel. Midwits will be convinced by "exhaust go back, me go forward!" and ignore the momentum of the exhaust, which is still part of the system being conserved, after it leaves the engine.

It's in a vacuum. It has to spread out to maintain zero pressure. It can't spread out in the direction its already moving, otherwise it would just keep accelerating to infinity. It has to equalize zero pressure by moving in the other direction, thus zeroing out the phantom momentum glowniggers imply when claiming rockets work in space.

>You can't generate thrust in a vacuum
Surely you have some evidence or solid explanation illustrating that? You can create vacuums here on earth, so there must be lots of evidence.

From your own timestamped video
>this is at about 0.02 atmospheres pressure right now
So only 15 ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE more pressure than the vacuum of space. i.e. not a vacuum. Nice try, but that's not even close to the conditions required for the experiment to be valid.
>>
>>532858207
Do you have a valid experiment then? There must be valid experiments since you are the one claiming that possibility, why would you claim something without valid evidence?

can you feel yourself getting pushed backwards throwing 30lbs away from yourself?
now explode it out of a rocket engine, and youll get fucking 500x the power of that.
vacuum or not.

The burden of proof that rockets can work in a vacuum is on you. You say its trivial to demonstrate on earth, then post an experiment that I DEBUNKED and then you dodged and changed the subject to demanding I disprove your bullshit instead of responding to the debunking of your weak ass experiment.

>>
>>532859770
So your claim changed from "rockets don't work in a vacuum" to "rockets don't work in a vacuum below 0.02 atm", is this correct?
Along these lines, what is the correct vacuum that makes rocket thrusters stop working, what is the principle guiding that phenomenon, and what is the evidential basis of that claim?
>>
>>532859923

ok try to think about this for me.
throw a 50lb chunk of metal.

youll feel it push you backwards right?
now throw a huge beach ball.
the beach ball pushes way more air right?
but you feel nothing, because it weighs nothing.
you are pushing off throwing the mass of the fuel, not the atmosphere.

rockets actually work better in space because they don't have to push air out of the way to release pressure. with all that pressure inside the rocket and no pressure at the back where the pressure is released out the nozzle, the pressure pushes the rocket up, opposite of the direction where the pressure is released. if you didn't release the pressure the rocket would go nowhere because pressure would push equally in all directions inside it.

They don't rendezvous directly from the ground into the orbiting vehicle. That's not how an orbital rendezvous works. They go into a lower orbit, so basically they are going faster than the orbiting vehicle. Then they can catch up with it. As they get closer they raise their orbit until their orbits are basically matched. If you overshoot you just stay in the lower orbit and wait to catch up again.
You can run out of fuel if you fuck up over and over (or food if you turbo fuck up), but it isn't a straight one shot right up to the orbiter or you'll die.

>>532853945
>How do they take off from the moon if fire has no oxygen in a vacuum?
How to drive a submarine when there is no air at all?
>>
>>532861444
The stars do move technically, but it's such a slow timeline it's not worth talking about. It takes 250 million years to orbit the galaxy once, and all the stars are orbiting with us keeping fixed positions from us.

Anyway, the bigger factor is that the earth has this thing called precession. When something spins, and there's a bit of torque on it, the thing will start precessing. Demonstration here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8H98BgRzpOM

So the earth has some oblique forces acting on it, from the other planets, from the moon, from the sun. And remember the earth isn't perfectly round either, it's an oblate spheroid.
Because of all this, the direction of the earth's angular momentum changes over time. It wobbles like a top.

They say that in the Middle Ages there was no "north star". And in the Bronze age, the north star was something else. Polaris being the north star is a recent thing, that may last another 500 years or so before precession carries us away.
>>
>>532861444
>and we're aligned with the direction of travel of the solar system
Actually not even required nod that I think about it.
