Has anyone else noticed a larger amount of spelling mistakes here in general?I've noticed myself that even things like "I mean" will get corrected to "lean" when that never happened before.I assumed it was just me, but perhaps the keyboard jews don't want us to understand eachother?

>>532859150>>532859164it's not just autocorrect is the thing. keyboards also use AI to adjust the real position of keys based on how you type. the idea is, for example, if you frequently tap the 'f' key slightly to the right on the cusp of 'd' it will shift the real position of 'f' slightly over to the right, the intent being that you make fewer mistakes that way. at least that's how it's supposed to work, but of course in practice it is far from perfect. the apple keyboard is particularly bad. and so keys aren't really where they should be and what ends up happening is you think you're pressing one letter, but then it types another. and most people don't really pay enough attention to realize they've made a mistake (or rather their keyboard has) and so don't edit themselves.

The fact that autocorrect will edit your spelling mistakes on the fly means a lot of people dont even realize they spelled it wrong in the first place. I have autocorrect off and I will say most of my spelling mistakes are due to my fat thumbs or trying to look at the phone screen while also looking at the keyboard, so maybe the massive increase in phone posting also exasperates it.

It got better for a while, but after 2020 I've noticed it increasing. The most noticeable spelling issue I've noticed is that sometimes I'll omit entire words from a sentence. Often it will be some kind of connector or place word. Participles, mainly. I'll forget to write the word "the" or "as" or something like that. Often don't notice until after I post something. It's like my brain is going faster than my hands can type or something, but I don't realize it unless I proofread my posts

But after then, it started happening a lot more to me. On my bad trip I was up for 4 days straight unable to sleep due to stress, and other anons mentioned working nights or split shift impacted it.
