Why does it seem like the '3D printer revolution' has mostly stalled out compared to the hype from the 00's/early-10's? It's still mostly a niche activity. Also, 'biodiesel' - why hasn't it replaced regular fuel yet? Whose fault is this? Was the tech overhyped, or did something unforseen happen?
>>
>>532869247
3d printer tech has been chugging along just fine
most development is in SLP resin printers rather then FDM printers which are messy and expensive so you don't hear about them from hobbyists
>>
>>532869247
you can't 3D print porn so it will never mainstream
>>
>>532869247
You can’t just expect build everything through extrusion techniques. It was always going to be limited.

>biodiesel
Check again next year. Biodiesel is made from seed oils. Instead of motor oil, it is goyslop oil. I just checked, it costs about 70 cents per liter, or 3.8 dollars per gallon to make today.

ALL tech stalled out in the late 2010s. The reason all investment capital in the world is being thrown at AI is because AI is literally the only thing left to invest in.

>>532869361
idk man I've printed some really nice Loona figures.

Ireland was a corporate tax haven due to low rates and fairly easy to do fraud. Ireland decided they wanted to stop being world's corporate headquarters. Changed laws in 2010s but also allowed a short time to take money out of the country at a reduced tax rate. Corporate kikes writing a get out card into the law essentially. Facebook, google, etc all had a large surplus of money at this time and all gambled it on AI. Back then it was a 500b investment that could have a 10t return or more. Shareholders were told it would reduce jobs greatly which is a great cost saver which would increase value. That is why they have had huge headcount cuts lately, shareholders are upset the investment didn't pay off. So much capital went into this that everything else stalled because the potential that was lied about didn't turn out to be true.
All of society is controlled by the rich and they want to stop paying you and me money so they will always look for things like this. Meanwhile our politicians suck their rich cock instead of enacting policies that help the masses. I will never be a millionaire or a billionaire. I wasnt born into wealth so I must sell my time for money since I cant make my money earn more money. Wish more faggots understood this so we could make politicians be accountable for sucking rich cock.

Because people are retards.
Now they are retards with 3d-printers.

Same with programming and video games programming after UE5 and Godot came out: It actually takes hard intellectual work to get anything done, even with easy to use tools. And most people really, really hate having to think hard.

By the way, for those non-retarded and genuinely interested in this topic, FreeCAD recently came out in version 1.1 and its great. Its very close to Inventor or Solidworks but without goyscription service and its free and open source

Biodiesel is a very unstable fuel.
It degrades rapidly. It leaves carbon deposits all through an engine.
And, if any moisture finds its way into the tank, it grows a kind of mold. Black flakes all throughout the fuel system, clogging pick-ups, lines, pumps, injectors.

It's a decent idea in theory, but absolutely terrible in practice.
>>
>>532871720
There must be an additive to prevent the growth.
I've seen some type of algae-like bio-sludge grow in regular diesel left to sit in a storage tank for a couple years.
>>
>>532869247
Both seem to underperform because you aren't paying attention.
3D printing is defacto a default step in every design process for everyone aged 55 and lower and many aerospace parts are in fact wholly printed.
Biodiesel from non-food sources such as sewage is gradually making its way into tanks and stuff like castor bean is hardy and high yield without competing with food.
We'll probably want to advance methanol fuel cells longer-term though. Methanol is very aggressive when burned but in a fuel cell has quite good stats.
>>
>>532871967
There is. The real problem is Winter performance not storage or burning traits. And even that can be solved by doing a flexifuel system that can do ethanol rather than classic biodiesel.

If the general public is just now realizing AI was a scam then those pulling the strings must have known for years. These people never lose because their friends write the rules so expect a taxpayer bailout soon in one form or another.

How does it compare to Fusion 360?
>>
>>532869247
the reason is that people just print Pokémon cards and counterfeit funky pops
not ONE useful item
>>
>>532869247
Because it's not really useful

AI isn't a scam. You just need to be intelligent in order to get what you need out of it. I use AI all the time.

>>532872837
AI isn't useful it's for retards

Metal 3d printing is the future and has made significant advancements. You can now 3d print and machine a part as its made
But the machines cost 500k so theres a reason you dont see them in main stream.
>>
>>532869247
3d printing would be cool without plastic
plastic is literall the devil
syn-thetic
>>
>>532872520
Fusion 360 is really nice but not worth the 85 dollars they demand. t-guy who pays monthly for it because i prefer it.
Just pirate solidworks 2017 and use that instead.
Also fusion 360 doesnt use standardized nomenclature of processes that things like rhino Creo SW or freecad use
Freecad is an excellent option though.
Fusion is great for dirty modeling. Its quick but also cloud based, so your shit isnt exactly private if you need that.
Ive designed multiple 3d printed firearms using fusion 360.

>>532872226
Just put a little ethanol in the biodiesel and it performs better in winter.

>diminishing White population
>higher than average barrier of entry (not really, its just above zero effort)
But most importantly
>cell phones
The cell phone has sapped the boredom out of every day life every one has one and everyone looks at it at the forst sight of the dreaded boredom.
Most things that are entertaining were made because someone is bored enough to do it. This is why these things dont get done anymore.
Vr should have taken off, but the cell phone is easier for the young adults to use
3d printing is remarkable and should have taken off, but the cell phone is easier to use.
Gaming is dying, because the cell phone gives more hits of dopamine.

Everything in the world of hobby/entertainment is competing with the cell.phone, and they're losing

No, gaming is dying because game companies suck now on account of they're managed by roasties and cucks.

>everything in the world of hobby/entertainment is competing with the computer, and they're losing
FTFY.
The only difference between a desktop and a smartphone is the form factor.
Smartphones have the performance to emulate x86 games now. With a controller, you can play any console game on it.
The phone itself isn't why those industries are failing.

Hollywood producers and actors complain that they have to change the way they make movies and series because of the Netflix generation that's on their phone all the time, that they have to repeat the whole story every 5 minutes in case you were doomscrolling.
The problem isn't that the audience is doomscrolling. It's why they're doomscrolling.
If a movie or show sucks, what do you do? You change the channel, you do laundry, you clean your kitchen, you go take a shit, you go do something else.
That's not because those activities are more fun. It's because the movie/show is fucking shit.
I don't pick up my phone to shitpost through a movie when the movie is good. If a movie's bad, I turn it off and go do something else.
They're using the audience, gaslighting the audience really, to excuse dogshit performance on their own part.

The irony of that situation is that because these producers have changed the way they produce entertainment products, the products have degraded even further in quality and give even more reason to do something else.
In other words, the world of hobby/entertainment isn't competing with cell phones. There is no such competition. They're in a race to the bottom with themselves and live in an echo chamber, because of which they can't perceive why their treasured 2-month script isn't as good as Peter Jackson's 3,5 years of pre-production and Tolkien's 40 fucking years of world building.

I design and print drone parts as well as fixtures for my work on an almost daily basis. You just never learned how to use CAD.
>>
>>532869247
- 3D print market is saturated. Most of printers aren't used at all, because learning curve is actually quite steep. People are too lazy to learn CAD for functional prints.
- biodiesel is a bit more expensive than ordinary diesel for now. afaik in EU 10% of diesel must contain biodiesel. Things might change soon, though.

This is not entirely true. One example is general availability of GaN ICs - they allowed for insane minituarization and power optimization of inverters, chargers and brushless DC motor drivers. This is also one of the core technologies that made drones possible in such capacity as they are now.
>>
>>532876254
There are more indie devs now than at any point before. So it isnt entirely because of aaa corpos.
>>532876324
Yep, they try stuff too when they get bored. But weve removed boredom so they dont try.
Intelligent people invent a thing, the NPCs come to enjoy jt. But they never get off the phone.
>>532876748
>computer
No, the computer isnt designed to be as addictive as possible. The cell phone is. Most people arent using their phone as a console, they scroll through short form videos because thats all the can handle.

I agree, the quality has dropped but even showing someone an older movie, they do the same thing. So its not just shitty movies, something has changed with us.

They've changed entertainment to further mine our dopamine receptors. Every live service game shoots for a dopamine hit at every 5 seconds. Its all engineered
