I know the struggle and it feels like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. My parents had to help me a lot when I was 18-21. I once applied to 30 restaurants in a single day and the best I could find was a dish washing job. I dressed nicely and came in to speak directly with the hiring manager to hand him my application and resume to no avail. This was in 2009 though, nobody was hiring. I found a way out by selling and growing weed, and splitting my bills in half by living with my girlfriend, who eventually became my wife and mother of my children. When the bottom fell out of the weed market I went to college and studied CS. Eventually sliding into an engineering career at the right time, but that future is far from certain. I wouldn't take this as a recommendation of what you should do, so much as an assurance that if you can find solutions.You are capable, Anon. If you are intelligent, kind, caring, and above all adaptable, you WILL figure out how to pay the bills. Keep your ear to the ground, keep your wits about you, and be quick to jump on opportunities. Eventually something will pan-out. Do not lose hope.

I successfully navigated a FAANG company's engineering pipeline and they were in the process of tendering me an offer when the company announced a hiring freeze then proceeded with mass layoffs. Lol.
