Money is not a resource, it's just a tool to distribute resources. Resources are physical and scarce: food, fuel, lumber, etc. Even though a billionaire has a million times as many points as you in a database somewhere, his enormous lavish mansion only consumed the lumber and labor of 50 normal houses. It's not like each billionaire is converting his points to warehouses of unused lumber, just so you can't have any. That's one of the many problems with communism, redistributing "wealth" doesn't actually create more resources. You can focus production or trade on one resource at the cost of another, but no matter what economics bullshit you wrap it in, a nation's prosperity comes down to resources produced divided by number of mouths to feed. Taking in unproductive mouths adds up fast.
