If the West falls from its perch after so many years of fighting with everyone else and claiming to be God's gift to the world, I don't think the rest of the world is going to be very merciful. Thirty years ago the West was generally admired. Now it's universally despised by non-Western peoples, and the reason for the shift is the choices Western countries have made based on their delusions of grandeur and invincibility.
