Now, it can unironically generate better code than most experienced engineers in more technical areas such as security, infrastructure, cloud, robotics, embedded systems, etc... Claude can now catch hard to find bugs within seconds that used to take months by experienced auditors. It can generate perfect legal documents that used to take weeks, it can almost do most white collar jobs better than most humans. The biggest companies in the world stopped hiring juniors and even laid off hundreds of thousands of now useless employees, including engineers, because they are now focusing on automating these jobs. And that's just the beginning and just using text-based models.

How many hundreds of hours would I need to become good enough to be able to add new features, COMPLEX new features to a mixed C/C++/ObjC/ObjC++/web project? 8 months of every spare minute I had? 24 months? I don't even know. But in 8 days of spare time, I've added a bunch of long-undone features to a popular bittorrent client. 8 fucking days. It'll be 9 days tomorrow night.
