I have been seeing a lot of discourse on this. People will say "I am not anti-jew, I am anti-zionist". But what exactly does that really mean? I am unfamiliar with the jewish faith but I was under the impression that a "zionist" is just a person(do they have to be jewish) that believes Israel should be it is currently in the Middle East. Is it more complex than that? Is it possible to be a "Jew" but not be a "Zionist"? Because there are Jews who are not the Askenazi(sp?) kind right? So if they aren't that kind of Jew, would they even care about Israel? I guess what I am trying to find out, IS THERE an actual distinction between "JEW" and "ZIONIST"?
