>>533412992It's just the unfortunate downside of the Japanese having such a highly rules based culture that I don't think you can dispense with the retarded aspect without losing the positive aspect. They'll strictly follow any rules even without enforcement or penalty, which leads to a lot of the pleasantness Japan enjoys. Clean streets, functional public transit, you can leave things unattended and nobody will steal it, even the homeless are tidy and pleasant. The downside is that the Japanese will follow any rules, even if they're clearly stupid, pointless or outright bad exclusively because they are the rules. Dostoevsky is too dead to be negatively impacted by piracy in any capacity, yet the honourble samurai still thinks this is a devastating attack on the Russian's culture.
