Generational theory is a memeI was born in 1995According to what people think when I was a Senior in high school the Juniors were a different generationDoes that make any sense?
Should we not try to categorize different time periods in any way then
You’re too much of a nitwit to understand it. That’s pretty bad
It's not literal it's just a generalization of the zeitgeist in a rough age range
>>533420202>>533420260>>533420275Generations are a meme. Every single one goes through the same shit unless there's a war
>>533420103In the past a child would grow up in nearly the exact same culture his grandfather grew up in. In the present, culture shifts so quickly that a father and son grew up in two wildly different cultures and can barely understand each others lived experiences. Those in charge of society take advantage of this fact to further divide and conquer everyone by labeling separate generations and pitting them against each other.
>>533420103Generational theory is beneficial in determining what propaganda you were dosed with. Although it should likely be segmented more based on your parents generation. There's a difference between Millenials raised by boomers and milleniais raised by GenX, same as there's a difference between zoomers raised by GenX and zoomers raised by Millenials.
>>533420454A father and son are literally of different generations by definition
>>533420103>Generational theory is a memeThis becomes clearer when you can notice discrepancies between those with older parents/older siblings vs. younger parents/younger siblings or no siblings. Those with older parents, siblings, and relatives will probably relate to older generations than their own because of their upbringing, vice versa with the younger cohort.Another issue is culture and wealth. If you were poor and rural, you probably seem "old fashioned" than a urban kid born the same year as yourself. These things are what every generational argument boils down to, because it's arbitrary to begin with.I don't think generation labeling is bad, but it's an autism magnet.
>>533420103Yes. My wife is 3 years younger and def a genrrational gap.
I’m from the end of 94 and I’ve always felt trapped between two worlds desu.I’m old enough to remember 9/11 but I don’t really identify with the stereotypical millennial culture. All of my friends are younger than me. I’m not a true zoomer either though. Probably doesn’t help that I didn’t graduate college until my late 20s. Now that I think about it I never did spend all that much time around other “millennials” when I was growing up…
>>533420103>how does reproduction workUnfortunately you were born *just* before lead got banned. Sorry bud, maybe the next generation will understand it!
>>533420677Yes, but typically those generations existed in the same culture, which is not the case today.
>>533420103>According to what people think when I was a Senior in high school the Juniors were a different generationNo, but when you were a sophomore in highschool all of the seniors were in a different generation.
Zillenials are the strongest sub generation ever
>>533420357They should be a meme. Up until industrialism where the way the world interacts is changing rapidly generations wouldn't matter so much since people would be doing the same exact thing their grandpa did it with little changes due to technology. It just is what it is, the world is moving on from things and into other things so rapidly the experience of different generations is different. The biggest problem is when people want to wash the baby out with the bathwater and decide because technology we need to change our character and morals. You shouldn't listen to those people.
>>533420202Before Strauss-Howe came along and turned everyone into annoying pseudointellectuals, a generation was generally accepted as being 25-30 years, not a bunch stupid divisional labels separated by arbitrary points in time.
>>533423917How were neither of them Jewish? We sure they arent hiding it?
