President Donald Trump on Saturday appeared to complain that federal officials are “slow-walking” following through on an executive order he issued to complete the process of federally rescheduling marijuana.“You’re going to get the rescheduling done, right, please? Will you get the rescheduling done, please?” Trump said, seeming to speak to a Department of Justice official during an event in the Oval Office on Saturday. “You know, they’re slow-walking me on rescheduling. You’re going to get it done, right?”The president did not specifically mention cannabis, and it’s not immediately clear who the official he was speaking to is, but it has been four months since he directed the attorney general to complete the process of moving marijuana from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) to Schedule III “in the most expeditious manner.” That hasn’t yet occurred, however. The president’s comments came during a signing ceremony for a new executive order aimed at expanding and expediting research on the potential therapeutic benefits of psychedelics, a move aimed at making substances such as psilocybin, ibogaine, LSD and MDMA more readily available to patients in clinical settings.Longtime Trump advisor Roger Stone recently said someone in the Trump administration is “holding up” the completion of the cannabis rescheduling proposal.Trump this month fired Attorney General Pam Bondi, who opposed marijuana reform in Florida when she was that state’s attorney general, although there is no indication that cannabis was at the center of the president’s frustration with her performance in his administration.Todd Blanche, who previously served as Trump’s personal attorney and as deputy attorney general, is serving as acting attorney general until Bondi’s replacement is confirmed.>https://www.marijuanamoment.net/trump-complains-doj-is-slow-walking-marijuana-rescheduling-four-months-after-he-issued-an-order-to-get-it-done/
>>533426392They need to save that for an October Surprise to cause the Democrats to have a massive weed party, and then they will space out for months.
I don't get why they can't just carry out this order immediately. Isn't it only a policy change? Just send a mass email to everyone who needs to know about it and that's it, right?
Blue wave status?
>>533426392Keeping it schedule 1 is an easy way to throw political dissidents in prison, especially if they own firearms. It's that simple.
They should just remove it from federal law all together. The only people who have a problem with cannabis are the people who have never tried it. They should have no say in the matter
>>533427034Entire dea operations stop and people lose their jobs. Plus big pharma loses money and Mitch McConnell's hemp ban gets essentially cancelled.
>>533426392>i was gonna reclassify the weed.. but then I got high
>>533427294Shall not be infringed
They wont even let us talk about the psychadelics excecutive order on here but everyone i told IRL about it today was stoked and in shock/disbeleived , this is extreme remoralizationLSD and the draft - a timeless combo to make america great again
>>533427662Why would Big Pharma lose money? As I understand it they'd actually stand to gain from rescheduling because they'd be better able to legally develop new pharmaceuticals from cannabinoids.
>>533427615Exactly, and there are a lot of Federal workers, Judges both state and even Federal such as Amy Coney Barrett who spoke out against why it would be illegal to deny an American a firearm because they smoke marijuana. She applied the same criticism to a 'drunkard'. Some prominent military leaders are for legalization as well. It's not just limited to some niche "stoner" far left group like many stereotype it as. Prominent politicians and government officials want this to happen. Including many on the right. It's a few close headed individuals either in Trump's cabinet and or mainly Congress that are inhibiting Federal rescheduling to happen in the quick manner it should
I fucking hate potheads so much
>>533428325are you a drinker?
If they don't go through the work of having congress pass an actual change in law, the DoJ can just decide to prosecute whenever they randomly feel like not looking the other way for you.
>>533428357No
>>533428325Same
>>533426392Sad!
>>533428016>look at this guy, he thinks they want to actually cure diseases instead of selling you lifelong patented drugshahaha you must be new hereif you don't believe me, to visit an oncology institute. you'd think you're in the waiting room of mar-a-lago
>>533426392This is the result you get from the most typical stoner reponse, to asking to get something done, lel.
>>533426392I wish he was that impatient with the Epstein's files.
this is for the draft btw
>>533428592So why not patent some new drugs and sell those?I don't buy this conspiracy theory any more than the one about water powered cars or whatever. Even if you are really evil and greedy it doesn't make sense to deny yourself the benefits of innovation on the basis that the industry would change.
>>533428325This.
>>533426392Isn’t it his DOJ?
>>533426392
>>533428592imagine after they can sell you legal snake oil anticancer shit made out of weed
>>533429138> Isn’t it his DOJ?exactly. its why he will never release epstein files. its zio don just lying like usual and blaming others.
>>533426392w00t
>>533428016the canna drugs would probably be cheaper to produce and sell at a lower price point. lots of links in the opioid chain would be unhappy someone else would be getting their slice of the pie.they likely wouldnt be happy with "just being irreplaceable". they want better profits next quarter.
>>533428447no wonder youre so high strung. chill the fuck out teetotaler.
>>533428592>lifelong patentedNot how it works. Patents expire and quickly. They're not like copyright. The pharma companies have to either put out new drugs or somehow convince you to keep buying the brand-named one over generic competitors. That's why there's always some hot new Crohn's disease or psoriasis drug being advertised on TV.
