On the approach to Petrograd, lacking support, the confused Kornilov abandoned the effort. >>533430510I also find the notion that the two revolutions came about because the Russian population was war weary and wanted to basically surrender to Germany very funny, especially considering the civil war ended up being much more devastating to civilians than the world war. Not even the bolsheviks wanted to end the war on unfavourable terms, continuing to fight for several months until their own demoralization and sabotage ended up backfiring and making organized resistance against Germany impossible. Kerensky was also of course the biggest retard of them all, launching a pointless offensive while the army was still in a state of chaos and demoralization instead of just stalling and rebuilding strength. The state of the Russian army wasn't nearly as bad as it is always made out to be, having survived far worse situations earlier in the war.
