>Spend more money on its military than everyone else on planet Earthas the royal united services has pointed out on my occasions: the western military industrial complex is profit-driven. this means you spend trillions, but you get relatively little bulk for it. the russians, despite having a budget 1/10th of the US military, produce more missiles and drones per year than the US does. this is because everything in the US is extremely expensive (see the infamous 50.000 USD garbage can for that plane). when germany requested artillery for ukraine from rheinmetall, the company was charging 7500+ euro per shell (roughly 8k USD) where as the average price in russia is around 400 USD equivalent. in countries like north korea its probably even less.western MIC's are all about profit, making fancy toys that look good on the showroom stage but can't be produced in bulk or in any reasonable time frame. so when you get stuck in a large war (like in iran or ukraine) you simply lack the required amount of weapons needed to win the war decisively. the US has already expended 75% of their JASSM stockpile, and it is expected to take 6-7 years to rebuild it. that's why the intensity of US strikes declined so drastically after the first week and after that virtually stopped. they do not have the amount of weapons needed to hit all iranian targets, not even close. it's a giant country. russia has fired 3-4x as many missiles in a country half as big and isn't one step closer to achieving its goals.
