Most people here are too stuck in there ways, if you were to suggest anything that isn’t Bermuda grass to a developer they would look at you crazy and say “ well that’s how we have done things since the 50s , no reason changing it”. In terms of working out most people don’t bother because of how unpleasant the frontage of many streets are unless you live in heights or montrose. During Covid I went to a park nearby my house to hit tennis balls, not a single person or car in sight, as if the world had been emptied out. After 20 mins or so a police car pulled up and fat black cop took 15 mins to waddle his way to the corner of the park where the courts are. He looked up to tell me what I was doing was illegal because of the Covid shutdown and that I would have to leave due to trespassing. I had no words… this is a long rant but I will keep going. Most Houstonians cope with living in this hellscape by saying that we have good food which is true, we do have good food but people seem to think that this is a good enough measure for a city and completely avoid everything else
