What do you guys think of jury duty? I just got summoned for the first time. Have you ever been? Have you ever gotten out of it? Do you think it should be abolished? What are your thoughts?
>>
I did jury duty last month for a first degree murder trial done by 2 people and it's one of most memorable experiences I have had in my life. It was interesting going thru the whole legal process and in the end I led to two blacks going to jail for life and being eligible for the death penalty

I was going to skip the trial if it was something minor but murder was worth my time
>>
Got out of jury duty 3 times. Tell them you're racist. It's highly unlikely the defendant will be white.
>>
The racist thing is an over played hand. I think ppl might be better saying they are suck libards that they could never find various minoritys at fault for anything.
>>
>>533449292
why do you want to get out of it? it's not like it is hard or anything. yeah you get paid shit but it is interesting to see how it all works. in some states (but not at all) they are legally required to pay you for any missed days too.

if you live in a state where your job isn't required to pay, you can possibly get out by telling them it would be financial hardship.
>>
>>533449292
I went and wasn't called. Was kind of annoying. I telepathically flirted with a girl who I remember to this day.
>>
>>533449292
why would you want to get out of it? don't be a faggot
if it's grand jury it's even better. stop shit cases from ever making trial
>>
>>533449586
Thats also being racist
>>
>>533449292
I was only summoned once so far, and got out of it after I said I probably wouldn't be an ideal juror due to shift work.
Judges are usually pretty reasonable, and if you have a good reason, they will let you go.
They usually summon a lot of extra people, because they know they are going to be some that don't show up or request to be dismissed.
>>
>>533449292
It's wrong, just like taxes, and forcing people to be staff at elections, check IDs, count votes etc like they do in Spain. The most vile form of this is the draft, since they enslave men to be cannon fodder. Everything else is not that bad. But from a libertarian standpoint, all those things are wrong.
>>
>>533449397
>and in the end I led to two blacks going to jail for life and being eligible for the death penalty

Well done, anon.

>>533449430
I was thinking about doing this but I feel like it might not work.
>>
Jury duty is one of the singular times that you actually have the power to put the people you hate away or who did a lot of wrong. Your verdict holds immense power and during deliberations you can clearly make your arguments with other jurors to convince them. I did deliberations for 2 days in a first degree murder trial and definitely played a role in convincing some.

You will have the stories to tell for the rest of your life too

This is me >>533449397
>>
>>533449292
I just say I am anti semetic and would not trust a jewish lawyer's arguments regardless of if they are prosecutor/defense
>>
>>533449823
just start going on about kikes and niggers and they will eventually let you go
>>
>>533449834
The point is not whether it's good to do it or not, it's about whether forcing it is ethical.
>>
>>533449397
>It was interesting going thru the whole legal process

>why do you want to get out of it? it's not like it is hard or anything. yeah you get paid shit but it is interesting to see how it all works.
That's pretty much how I felt about it.
If I had a regular schedule, I would have stayed on to see it play out, even though sounded like a typical grand jury rubber stamping.
Courthouse parking usually sucks ass, though. Always investigate that ahead of time.

this might vary by state but when i get the notice, it goes right in the trash. the courts send a small postcard with no tracking and no signature. they say they sent it? fuck you, prove it. maybe its in the wrong box. maybe it slipped into a magazine. idk. i just know i didnt get it. at the end of trials judges will actually go up to jurors to tell them that they only really receive replies to 30% of the notices they send, and do not have the resources to pursue non-responses. i've also heard from court employees behind the scenes that nobody actually cares as long as they get enough replies to fill the necessary seats, which they always do because a portion of the population will always simp le civic duty. probably the same idiots who voot. anyway
>>
>>533449430
>Tell them you're racist. It's highly unlikely the defendant will be white.

Just tell them that you think lawyers are scum and as soon as you catch the DA telling a lie in court you will consider the trial over and the defendant not guilty.
Because you are a fair-minded citizen you will hold the defense to the same standard. One lie - guilty.

You will never see a jury box for the rest of your life if that's how you want to play it.

>Have you ever gotten out of it?

Truth be told I was summoned once here in a flyover state. The trial was nigs nogging so nothing special. One guy on trial, one guy with two gunshot wounds, one guy in the forever box. Typical city nigger monkeyshines.

I had nothing going on for the week so I did it for a lark.

Made it to selection and the defense asked me if I, or anyone I knew, had been the victim of 'Gun Crime'.

I said yes, as it was true, and that was it. Done. Dismissed. It was years ago and I have never seen another little postcard from the courts.

Nice :))
So they are collecting the remaining people who never go out for jurors?
>or never lived in a city
>>
>>533451631
>collecting the remaining people who never go out for jurors?

They were asking questions that anyone who had to deal with niggers on a daily basis would say 'Yes' to.
Gun crime, robbery, burglary, assault, ect.

Looking for people without personal experience of violent crime, no doubt. But it was obviously looking for people who had very few personal interactions with niggers.

I always laugh that american right wingers solution to everything is sit out doing it, that's why you get run over. Libcucks will lie their ass off to get back at a chud
>>
>>533449292
I just said I was racist and never got called again. Saying you don't ever believe cops is also a good way out I hear.
I did it twice before I played the race card. Third time in five years? Nah fuck off. First time I was unemployed so it was just something to do, second time fucked with m job and was an actual hardship.
Niggers are the worst jurors, followed by white women. For the usual reasons (stupid, crime simps)

>>533452033
Nice.
>>
>>533449292
Kind of fun and interesting, I got two cases to be on (your in a pool for like a month) and heard about some other cases going on. I realized that the decision of the jury in one case can end up very different in a very similar/identical case, and the difference that affects lives can be as simple as you had a juror who pressures the other jurors to agree with his decision because shops are closing early and he doesn't want to miss out
>>
>>533449292
Just make a comment how lawyers are nothing but ambulance chasers ruining this country. Since most judges are former lawyers and lawyers from both sides won't want you on the bench you'll be on your way quick
>>
>>533449292
>Have you ever been summoned?
Once when I was 18 and I just got high and made sure it was noticeable beforehand. I wasn't there long.

>Since most judges are former lawyers

Judges are lawyers who win elections or are appointed by people who win elections.
Therefore Judges are the worst of humanity, Lawyers who are Politicians.
>>
>>533449893
It's not forced, you can get out of it pretty easily. It would be like calling it the same as a draft or taxes which you cannot get out of nearly as easily, if at all.
>>
>/pol/ pissrs and shits when a jury of niggers and women put away men for shit like defending themselves
>every time a thread about jury duty pops up half of the thread is just discussing how to avoid jury duty
Dont cry when you get a jury of faggots for your trial of being rude to a nigger
>>
>>533452915
>Niggers are the worst jurors, followed by white women. For the usual reasons (stupid, crime simps)
Then it's even more a reason for the cis white man to be a part of the balancing act. A single hung juror can make or break a ruling.

If you're the hold out that refuses to put Rittenhouse away for shooting three deranged kikes, or refuse to let a nigger walk cause he a good boi dindu nuffin... that's a priceless opportunity that most people here wish they had.
>>
>>533449292
You can get out of it by citing work-related hardships. I got a higher-up at a company I do work for to write a letter stating that I was indispensable and irreplaceable and that I did regular work for them.
It was all true. You might be able to just lie and say that, but in my case it was actually true.

I completely understand all the comments here about how it's important, a way to make a real difference, etc.
FWIW I live in a 99% white area.
Moreover, the problem is that I would have to drive an hour to get to the court house. I can't do that there and back every weekday for months on end.
If it could be foreseen in advance that the trial would only be a week or two, okay, maybe I could rearrange my work schedule.
But walking into the situation blind, not knowing how long the trial would last? No thanks. I'm not getting a pittance for my entire life to be put on hold for an indeterminate amount of time. I have actual contracting work to do in an important field.

BTW, I've also heard all the magic phrases that people say to get out of it.
>I'm racist
>I don't believe cops
>I don't believe in the government at all
Personally I would be concerned about getting put on a formal or informal list if I were to say something like that to a public official. Especially the racist one. Many of these people are busybodies and will hold grudges and move heaven and earth to fuck you over down the line if you ever come in contact with them or their legal system again and they become aware of it.
You need a basic permit for something?
"Oh I remember you. You're the racist. No we're not approving you."
Or you got a basic speeding ticket going 6 miles over the speed limit?
"No, you can't just pay the normal fine. I want you to retake five driver safety courses."
Etc.

If you really want to get out of jury duty, I would look for a good, reasonable excuse. And I would contact the office before jury selection, before the public meetings with the pool of potentials

telling people on /pol/ to avoid jury duty is a disgusting jewish psyop run by retarded henchmen like jeets etc.
they dont want the average chud on a jury to swing cases towards actual justice
>>
I've never registered to vote. I know others that are unregistered. We have never been summoned. That's the answer.
If you're a registered voter and get summoned just mention that the bill of rights is the law of the land . Tell them you don't believe in corporate policies, aka violations of codes, acts, ect.
>>
>>533449292
Just ignore it. They cant prove you ever received the letter. It got lost in the mail or some nigger stole it. Only if they confirm receipt can you be guilty of a crime.
>>
>>533449292
i was called during a period in my life when i was about 8 years into the routine of being a weirdo nightshift worker. the entire premise of appearing for court violated everything about what my life was at that point in time. they didnt care at all. because $7.50 compensation per day was enough. i love america and i love jews.
>>
The way to "get out" of jury duty is to refuse to take any kind of oath to be "impartial" or "only make your decision based solely upon the facts as they are presented in court." That's them trying to trick you into waiving your power to actually make a decision on your own, which is the only reason a jury is even there. The only reason a trial will ever make it to a jury in the first place is if the police, the district attorney and a judge all agree that "the facts" show guilt, otherwise one of them would have already dropped it. Basically they just want you to rubber stamp the decisions they've already made in legal theater.
>>
>>533460387
i guess i forgot to finish my jury duty adventure story. anyway i showed up on time and slept in a chair until some armed man woke me up and told me to go up to the room. when i got to the room i again fell asleep where the next event would be me being jarred awake by some fat nigger shaking my shoulder screaming with joy about how all the cases pled out or whatever. meaning our time was completely wasted. the judge let us know our jury duty adventure was complete and we wouldnt be bothered for 3 or 5 or whatever it is years again.

I've done jury duty in the past, case was a cuckold who had killed the bull.

I didn't get randomly chosen to participate in the decision, though, and they just discharged me.

In America, the attorneys can pick jurors.

Got summoned once but didn't end up having to go because the defendant opted out of it. I think it's kind of a cool thing, but as with a lot of things, I'd rather not bare my ugly head in front of people. Feels weird especially in a professional setting. I'm made for suicide not the public.

The lawyer who was asking me questions for the screening was a dumb jive talking nigger and my autism was taking everything he said literally. I've been summoned three times. One time I got picked. If you really don't want to get picked, then you won't. I saw people go up to the judge many times with some bullshit excuse into his ear to avoid getting picked and the judge approved each time. Not because they believed everyone, of course there are going to be people lying to get out of it. But think about it logically, do you ever really want someone who casually lies to the judge to ever serve on a jury? Especially when its to get out of service. When would that ever make sense to tell them, actually you're going to serve on this jury. It made sense with me when my cousin was a smart ass who told the judge that he was an anarchist and he believed he would have a bias in the trial to say the man was not guilty because of his political beliefs where he doesn't recognise the legitimate authority of the state.

However, the easiest way to ensure you're never picked, without even saying a word or even getting the opportunity to say a word, is show up to court dressed in extremely casual attire, tracksuit, baseball hat, t-shirt. Add whatever low class accessories you want like gold chain or pick a t-shirt with a cannabis leaf on it. You'll NEVER be picked (either by the state or the defence), someone will use their veto to ensure you never serve.

And this is based on my direct experience with 3 occasions where I was summoned and watching the people that get accepted/rejected. This is the best way to avoid being picked since you're not lying to a judge.
>>
I'm a lawyer and every trick you people try to do we can sniff out in voir dire. Don't worry, we don't want you on our jury.

I turned up in desert camo BDUs; a bright red sweater; and battered All Stars; with scruffy long hair. They made us all wait in a large locker room type place where I buried my face in a magazine (this was long before smartphones), while they gradually called us in one by one over the space of a couple of hours, until someone came in and told me and the other two people there still that we could fuck off.

tl;dr dress like a cunt; don't cut your hair; and act like an asocial weirdo.
