Rowing a boat onto shore is not the same as landing an entire battalion of men with rifles, ammo, medical supplies, close air support, communications and logistics, set up a beachhead, and move inland to seize an objective without serious trouble from enemy air, artillery, and dysentery. Invading Iran via land is actually a lot less challenging because you can just follow the vales. But invading from the south and ignoring its geographical lanes is a very bad idea. Also a hard country to occupy as it’s very hard to dislodge insurgents from the mountains.
