That's changing rapidly. Maine's been shipping in somalis and every random refugee it can, while actively doing as much harm to the existing demo as possible. The people there are too old and senile, or too fucking stupid to see it. The state is deep blue, despite what copers will say about the inland population being MAGA.
Vermont has also been shipping in refugees for 20 years. It's noticeably different demographics than even a decade ago.
With that said, all of these states are still very white. But utopia is a stretch. The summers can be paradise. But ~6 months of the year, the weather is complete shit. They're not pretty during stick season or mud season.

Maine and New Hampshire are not friendly. The people are insecure and hostile af to anyone they don't recognize from grade school.
Say what you will about Stephen King, when he depicts these rube New England towns full of stuck up overbearing busy-body characters, it's accurate without exaggeration.

I don't like the politics of Mass, and always found people from there a little stuck up, but it's by far the most "normal" New England state.
Vermont would be cool if it had some kind of economy and didn't have the commie politics.

I left out NH, but NH is definitely getting its share. Still predominately white, but certain pockets have lots of obvious illegals/migrants on the coast.
Inland, in southern NH, it gets way more diverse. IDK if it's pour-over from Mass or what. Also, the white mountain tourist spots are overrun with Indians and the cheaper camping areas are flooded with Mexicans.

But again, still way white than any other part of the east coast I've been.
