It will end badly for Putin. It's not possible for him to stop the war. If he does, it will be his end. But he can't continue the war either because it will result in an inevitable collapse of their economy. However it ends, it will be glorious. My guess is he will fall off a balcony before the year is over.

>>
>>533528454
Putin needed to commit with way more troops at the beginning or just fucking leave after the initial blitz failed and asspulled some made up victory to sell back home. sanctions and diplomatic penalties were inevitable as soon as Russian troops crossed the border.

either way it was a fucking retarded idea in the first place. the EU and NATO were sliding downhill into infighting and paralysis already, the US was already pivoting towards Asia, the war was partly intended to start unraveling the post-WW2 international order but this attritional slog is both bleeding Russia (and Ukraine) out and giving the Europeans a wake up call to actually try to stop coasting and form a cohesive strategic block that just has way more resources and population than Russia. and for what? bombed out territory in the Donbas that is now just permanently stuck as an economic black hole because it will border a hostile Ukraine. Ukraine wasn't a threat before the war. just fucking incredible how the world is being run by all this narcissistic senile retards with dreams of their own majesty.

Putin doesn't have a successor. He has consolidated all the power around himself, so after he falls of a balcony, whoever follows will have nowhere near the same power. In fact we will see Game of Thrones, with nukes.
>>
>>533530353
Kikes don’t understand concepts like “long term planning” or “sustainable resources”. Their only concern is undercutting costs for short term profit and sabotaging host nations, but now the long term consequences have caught up. When the economy is centered on fake currency not tied to tangible resources, then things implode when resources strain.

>Putin needed to commit with way more troops at the beginning
That would have solved nothing at all. All it would have done is donate more materiel to Ukraine as they ran out of fuel and got stuck in the mud on the road to Kyiv. More troops would have solved literally nothing because the reasons why the initial blitz totally (and comically) failed had nothing to do with manpower.

It's a doubly queer idea that Russia should have just applied more manpower, by the way, because that's what Russia's been doing since the very beginning: throwing more and more men and metal into assaults. It hasn't worked. There's no reason to believe it would have worked any other time.

I know it's a meme but sanctions do take a while to take effect, Russia was hoarding into a war chest for years before starting this war because they knew they'll get sanctioned for it and they have been using said war chest to prop up the economy for a while now.
Putin didn't expect the west to freeze like 700 billion worth of russian assets though which he kind of needed to help weather the storm and it's just all been slowly going down hill from there.
The wartime economy helps but if you don't win hard and fast by the time the war ends you're gonna be fucked just like the uk was after ww2.

>>russia have effectively minimized unemployment
>believing official unemployment stats
They only count unemployed who registered in official employment centers and barely anyone besides old hags do this
More relevant would be number of replies on job opening on main Russian hh.ru job search site. Any opening with median salary gets tens and hundreds replies in days.
Largest Russian industrial enterprises scuh as VAS (Lada) car factory and Uralvagonzavod (tanks and railroads cars) are now have 4 day work week.

official unemployment stats is the same bullshit as Russian GDP "growth". Last 2025 year official report is 7% nominal growth with "6%" official inflation. Real inflation is around 20-25% so Russian GDP fell 13%, its just economic catastrophe.

The only reason the US stopped arming Ukraine is because it ran out of weapons. The entire war has basically demilitarized NATO, the opposite of the intended effect. Ukraine obviously was not going to win, the goal was to use this war to militarily degrade Russia but it's not really working.

they literally have 3 day working weeks because of lack of demand and inflation
>>
>>533536046
But there is a difference between supply drive inflation i.e. printing money to fund stuff and demand driven inflation. Russia's consumer markets are growing plus taxes are being diverted to domestic arms production which goes right back into the domestic economy because they produce all their own shit. Also no debt means no interest payments, ours are massive and just a huge loss.
>>
>>533536046
I quickly looked through that article and
>American magazine
>written by an American presumably living in America
>all the "sources" are links to more Fortune articles
>"a Russian official told the Washington Post in December on condition of anonymity"
There isn't a single source in that article, it has no more credibility than a 4chan post.

By the way here's another article from that same website from the start of 2023:
https://fortune.com/2023/01/10/russia-putin-failed-state-economic-collapse-ukraine-war-atlantic-council/
Forecasting doom and collapse for Russia. One especially funny claim:
>Russia’s economy is set to enter a period of decline that could last “three to five years,” researchers at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace wrote in December. Meanwhile, the World Bank and other international organizations predicted last year that Russia’s economy would shrink between 3.4% and 4.5% in 2022 in response to sanctions and export controls, with Russian trade in goods and services set to fall significantly. In 2023, the country’s GDP is expected to continue declining by as much as 5.6% in the worst-case scenario.
For the record, Russia's GDP actually GREW between 3.5% and 4.6% in 2023 and 2024.

Russia's money supply / inflation is increasing. And the Russian gov is in debt. Just because the debt is held by Russian banks doesn't mean it's not debt. It's still an IOU with. Which granted they can pay the interest off by printing more money ala what the US does now
>>
>>533532620
But ukraine started the war by mobalizing troops to take back Crimea.
>>
>>533536664
Taxes are diverted to economic output that doesn't have any benefit for the economy, except from the wages of those working in the arms industry. Everything produced is blown up. So a great part of those money spent just vanish.

They have low debt, but the problem with debt is not that it exists, but how much you afford to have it. And sure very high debt leads to high cost of servicing it. But low debt is not necessarily good, if you're cut off from international markets. It's a question of how can you even finance that debt if nobody lends money to you? China doesn't lend Russia any significan amount, they have their own problems. And Chinese banks don't want to get US sanctions.
>>
>>533535849
>the goal was to use this war to militarily degrade Russia but it's not really working

their unemployment rate is 2.1% which is low. A "sweet spot" for unemployment rate is 3-5%. 2.1% shows they don't have enough people in the work place.
>forces companies to stay raises wages massively to compete for workers and the extra costs doing this get passed onto consumers (inflation)
>a slightly higher unemployment rate lets people move around from different jobs
They've lost hundreds of thousands of working age men to the war and that doesn't account for the nearly 1 million who were able to flee during the early times of the war when there were rumours floating about of conscription. Which also leads to "brain drain" basically the smart ones got out. They are also currently going through a huge population decline with birth rates being it's lowest in 200 years.

NATO gave Ukraine everything it could, Patriot Pac-3's Abrams tanks, Leopard 2's, Bradleys, ATACM's, etc. The UK has no more self propelled artillery anymore because all of it was sent to Ukraine. All that is left are 14 Archer truck systems (hardly an SPG) and towed guns.

Inflation is simply a rise in prices and can be caused by multiple factors. What if tomorrow a bunch of jeets immigrated? What would happen to cow dung prices. What would happen to the price of cheese if we found it cured cancer? What if we just increased revenue and had more discretionary spending? That can even be done without increasing the monetary base. Say we sell X resource for Y foreign currency, use Y to buy Z items from them so we no longer need to buy them with our funds allowing us to reallocate them to something else? So many things.

>In February, household investments in financial assets grew after a seasonal decline in January, amounting to 1.7 trillion rubles across selected financial instruments. At the same time, household financial liabilities decreased by 106 billion rubles due to a reduction in bank lending. Bitch you can clearly see 90% of the expolosions are on the Russian side of the line

>There were no 2015 offensives
(Zelensky dodged the draft for this one)
The Shyrokyne standoff was a battle for the control of the strategic village of Shyrokyne, located approximately 11 km (6.8 mi) east of Mariupol city limits, between Ukrainian forces led by the Azov Regiment, and Russian-backed separatists, between February and July 2015. It was part of the larger war in Donbas. On 10 February 2015, the Azov Regiment launched a surprise offensive against pro-Russian separatists associated with the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) with the aim of pushing the separatist forces away from Mariupol city limits. The village is located just 10 km (6.2 mi) from the Ukrainian-controlled city of Mariupol, and was used as a launching point for separatist attacks on the city, which served as the administrative centre of Donetsk Oblast whilst DPR forces control Donetsk city. Fighting continued until 3 July 2015, when DPR forces unilaterally withdrew from Shyrokyne.[17] Subsequently, a cease-fire was declared in the area.[1]

This is an EXTREMELY cvcked position to whine about.
>Surprise: no change except things get worse
In what way, exactly? How did things get worse? By what metric?
>Alright, so then you admit these regions want nothing to do with Ukraine?
That is an internal political matter for Ukraine, but likely one which will require international arbitration. Maybe it would have been better to just give up Crimea.

At the same time, you have to view the issue in its proper context: an emboldened Russia probing the viability of a new era of territorial expansionism in the wake of American post-war isolationism. The question for Ukraine is survival. They overthrew their Russian puppet and don't want Yanu back. For the rest of the world, it's about the duty to help a defender against a war with unjust casus belli, but in a realpolitik sense also to prevent a new world in which territorial wars are rewarded with compliance. That world gets dark and ugly pretty fast.

I still haven't seen a convincing argument for precisely why this is a good idea. Yes, I understand that a thousand years ago McNamarra had a super based idea of separating China and Russia to use Russia against China. Obviously, most people recognize that this only makes sense if you manage to take Europe along for the ride. If you just cut Europe loose, there's nowhere for it to go but into China's orbit. Then you've traded the most highly-productive, advanced continent in the world for... sorry, but, "a gas station with nukes."

The idea of Russia as some potential great ally is provincial to the extreme -- especially after 2022. It just makes no sense, so long as you are the kind of person who prioritizes things making sense. If you aren't... well, BASED BASED BASED EPIC REDPILLED TRANNYKIKE BASED RUSSIA UUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOAHHHHHH, or whatever.

Yes, the US staging a false flag and coup then having the ambassador and State Department hand picking Ukraine's new government is not a big deal. you have no reply because there is no rebuttal. What is the US policy towards Iran? Regime change. Iraq? Regime change. Libya, Syria, Belarus, Russia, Egypt, Venezuela, Tunisia, the list goes on. Who is the aggressor against all these sovereign states? Obviously the US anon. We have to conveniently ignore this to maintain the tenability of our nonsensical worldview.

I'm not a big fan of US regime change operations, personally. I think they've done much more harm than good. I just don't see any good evidence for this being one of them. Not all revolutions are regime changes originating externally. Were we involved afterwards? Absolutely. That's diplomacy -- the exercise of soft power in service of national/global goals. Hell, were we involved before it, too? Yup. No problem believing that, either.

The problem for your argument is that neither of these things equate cleanly to the kind of regime changes we did to, say, Iraq and Iran. In both of those, there is undeniable evidence that we were deeply and intimately involved at all levels, up to and including direct, kinetic action.

Maidan, obviously, was not that. It appears by all possible metrics to have been extraordinarily popular. The populace was and is in favor. Calling that "regime change" totally ignores the agency of the Ukrainian people. This is, of course, thematic -- it follows from your priors that it's a CIA color revolution and therefore Russia strong and right etc. But I think I have demonstrated that this, in fact, a prior: it depends on an a priori perspective. Unlike the organic movement theory, it does not follow directly from the facts.

Not for globohomo.
Its easier to give a warlord a briefcase full of gold somolian coins to buy oilfields then pay mercinaries to guard oil wells.

Negotiating with a functioning government for fair contracts with transparency is hard
(BTW Bulgaria.was caught illegally minting somolian gold coins)

The false flag was then the opposition started shooting random people from an opposition controlled building, then they blamed Yanukovych for it. Moron.

it's a pattern that keeps repeating itself. Being a friend of the US fatal. They found out the hard way. It's OK it was necessary for democracy. We appreciate their sacrifice.
