So far as i'm aware the locals were pretty pissed over a train the federal government is trying to build (or they already built it) because they fucking hate tourists. The locals also like killing drug smugglers (not because they smuggle drugs specifically but because smugglers are generally assholes) so they are generally pretty capable at dealing with shit.
