Why are we supposed to be against renewable energy again? Iran has us by the balls, we could have had energy dominance right now if we had ramped up our solar and wind production in the past 2 decades.
more nuclear plants.
>>533615315Because you're supposed to care more about trannies and black people while letting megacorps do whatever they want or you're cringe or something
>>533615315Hunter Biden laptop
Free and limitless energy from the Sun which will be here for the next five billion years?Pfft, come on, now! Who would want that?!
Established legacy energy companies are oil based and that's more important than national security.
>>533615315>renewable energyThere is no such thing as renewable energy. People who say this shit have no idea how energy works.>why are you against chinese wind turbine and solar panel manufacturers getting american tax dollars?Would be a more accurate question, but one that doesn't deserve an answer.
Solar panels are very low energy relative to other methods, they only really make sense for one house to get around the highway robbery from grid prices.A large river blocked into a hydro electric dam is the same as million acres of solar panels. The loss of electricity in transit and the loss of money from the transit lines, are small relative to how much solar it would take to do the same, and then after all that, you can't produce energy at night. Solar is kind of cringe unless you're rolling your own for a house or consuming the electricity yourself. Electricity prices are up ten times since people use it, because the grid has to get paid. There is no reasonable way to store electricity, it can't be done at scale.
>>533615315Because big oil paid conservatives to shill against it before we had decent battery technologyI mean, the anti-EV stance kind of made sense in the early 2000s when their range was dogshit, but now it’s just Boomer assbackwardness
>>533615383You won't do shit
>>533615858If the sun goes out you're going to die. For all effective purposes you have limitless potential for harvesting energy from the sun, far more than you can ever realistically harvest or use, even in theory.
>>533616062its too good not to use.
Let me go ask the world governments
