We already used to have it with old button phones
Nigga you just did the 360
>>
You could also just buy a phone with a replaceable battery without forcing everyone to do it your way, little eurofag

yeah that's the point.

Americans will benefit from this and then claim the EU does nothing for them. This is now like the 20th pro consumer thing that has improved things for them. Dumb fat mutts.

I want an Iphone with a replaceable battery, doesn't exist, but now it will. Suck on that, bitch.

not throwing away the whole phone when the battery dies (which is the main reason people change a phone outside of trends and broken screen (that will also be required to be easily repaired ))

Yeah though about buying one but it's quite expensive and for obvious reasons you don't get to buy used ones.
>>
>>533627233
does it mean that anyone can produce battery for iphone, or any other phone manufacturer, and it will work?
no? then it does not matter
this just mean that the apple will harge you half the rice of new phone of same model
unless third party batteries will work nothing wil change
>>
>>533627233
You already can replace the battery in any smartphone, no device will stop working if you swap out the original battery for a temu working equivalent

Our demographics are falling, economy in every EU country is falling, everything is getting expensive and small countries like mine are getting squeezed due to demographic loss.

Our ideological groups haven't reached the level of dominance they have in your country (it is close, though, would I go to prison for not gollowing islamic rules? You go to prison for not following tranny made up gender stuff here, I think). People here are probably less conservative (although it is hard to believe that is possible).

Oldfag here.
This is idiotic.
I remember when they moved away from replaceable batteries and everyone was panicking.
Autists were making diagrams of how long devices would last with their batteries. Boomers were like, "I will NEVER buy a device that I can't change the battery on!"
In reality... I almost never replaced a single fucking battery on a device. The lifespan of the product is usually significantly shorter than the battery.
The only battery I've ever changed was on a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S with a swollen battery, and that was last year and the phone was released in 2018, so that was just me not getting around to buying a new phone because it did all the things I needed. It had good run and I used the battery to get some shit off the phone and then threw it away.
"B-but battery swaps." No, you're not gonna carry a bunch proprietary batteries when powerbanks exists.
This is literally just boomer kvetching. All it will do is make the phones heavier and more expensive and less water resistant. It's fucking stupid.

The bottom row's nice to get buttoned, but I don't need a full keyboard of buttons covering the bottom 1/3rd of the screen.
Now if it could slide out, that'd be different, I can work with that.

Recycling and repurposing of phones.
People tear out the chipset of a phone for the trace precious metals in there, but the rest of the phone's just waste.
If you can reduce the amount of phones getting thrown out, you reduce waste. Best way to do that is making the battery replaceable.

It means that the market is less dependent on shipping from China too.
Replaceable batteries mean a phone can be maintained through a war more easily.
>>
>>533630538
Politicians being ez tracked with phones.

>The lifespan of the product is usually significantly shorter than the battery.
I have a 9-year old Nokia 8 that still works fine except the battery now lasts half a day. It's the only reason I had to buy a new phone at the end of covid. I would have used it longer if I could swap out the battery.

I've never had a phone with a battery I couldn't replace. Skill issue, but I support it in principle. In practice I'm sure it'll just lead to increased battery costs as the normies increase demand with their tool-less battery swaps.

Nice. No doubt they'll just change the phone for the entire world. Was thinking of replacing my 2020 phone but I can hold out another year.
I mean it's six years old and the battery is fine so it hasn't even been a problem but there's always that chance. I've had batteries die in so many fucking laptops, I'm using one right now tethered to the wall but you literally cannot do that with a modern mobile phone, it's just garbage if the battery dies.
This obsession with saving 2 millimeters of thickness needs to stop, I already get a case that doubles the thickness. Where the fuck are people putting these things that they MUST be thin, up their vagine?

>>533627233

Try 2. After 2 years usually phone contracts are paid off and they "let" you upgrade to a better phone to scam you out of more money

> "What? A 6G phone with twice the memory size and two extra cameras in the front?! And I can unlock it by mouthbreathing at it?! Only 3 months wages?! Put it on my Klarna!"

And even then when they used water resistance as an excuse, there was the possibility to make the phone resistant already, but the faggot jews decides it's easier and cheaper to glue the back shut, than invest in proper implementation of gaskets. Anyway, nowadays we have gels in which you can coat the whole motherboard to make it waterproof. There's literally no excuse for this gay shit anymore.
