Basically all of humanity is divided into high-sitting and low-sitting cultures.
I think it's todo with anatomy, some cultures are able to sit squatted more easily than others.

Europe has always been a high-sitting culture. Even before they invented chairs, they would recline on benches, they never squatted.

>trying to make the guy who dresses like a 16 year old wigger sound sophisticated

no sir thats a nigger

Also notice the obvious tourist in this picture. She's not sitting on the low stool properly because they don't have the flexibility to do so. She's from a high-sitting culture.

This isn't necessarily a mark of civilisation. Japan is a low sitting culture

Wasn't it a royalty vs commoners thing, where royalty would sit on higher stools to symbolize their elevated status while commoners would sit on low stools
And is there any other place besides Europe where high sitting culture is present? I can't think of any
>>

You can sit on a high throne and still be low-sitting, you just place it higher up.

seiza is painful (inb4 you're stiff whitu piggu I'm a physiotherapist) and only an artefact because one emperor was afraid of assassination so he needed people to have numb legs. itæs dumb and bad for you

This. The purpose of kneeling in Japanese culture was so your legs would go numb and you couldn’t suddenly jump up and start an ambush attack.

Kneeling all the time is also horrible for leg bone development: it’s why all japs have bandy misshapen short ‘O’ legs.

haha yeah so that's why the emperor himself and his personal bodyguard are also sat on the floor, makes perfect sense. In other words, meds now

I think it carries over from Asian cultures always having overpopulation, resource scarcity, and minimalism. Why make 1 big chair when you can make 2 small ones?

This wasn't a problem for the less densely populated Europeans who were surrounded by perpetual forests.

Check out design theory's video on how eating utensils impact culture. You'll probably like it. Also his Luigi colani video
