Washed-out Naval Intelligence officer, living on someone else's property. Doesn't even have his own car, owes everybody money, only solves crimes because his friends do the legwork for him, and he can barely do the job he was hired to do for the Estate.
Why did Hollywood make us watch losers and tell us they were heroes?
>>
It's called being relatable, chud.
>>
John Hillerman was an excellent character actor

I prefer to watch "Jesus Christ inhibits the body of a human in a crisis moment" instead when I'm watching my boomer antenna tv.

they were vietnam war vets, and magnum solved mysteries in hiuggins' psychedelic red ferrari, but lived life on his own terms

higgins was actually that robin guy all along that he claimed to be
>watching the property for

if higgins didn't like magnum he could have kicked him out easily, made him stop using the ferrari, but he didn't

Everyone in magnum's crew was some sort of ex-military bad ass. Magnum was a retired seal. The other two where marines from some intel division. Even Higgens had a military background.
the setting also was perfect for that whole crime of the week with guest stars that everyone was doing. TC has a chopper so they could puddle jump anywhere around the island. Rick runs a bar so they can all hang out.
It's good TV for the 1980s. Kind of pitching this laid back Hawaii vibe with criminal investigations. Ya got to remember they didn't do deep serial TV with interwoven story lines going all season long in the late 1970s to early 1980s. It was Charlies Angels, Fantasy Island, Love Boat etc. Just easy going tv they could crank out eps on the quick with some guest stars.

>and magnum solved mysteries in hiuggins' psychedelic red ferrari,
Let me tail this guy, on this island, where all the criminal organizations know me, that I drive a red Ferrari, they will never see me coming. they have no idea its me. I will just follow them. they wont know.

motherfucker was livin' the life

maybe they never
>SAID
that in the show

but higgins always passed things down to magnum, i'm pretty sure magnum never spoke to him on the phone and def never showed up in person

>>533680501
yeah he was like dog the bounty hunter

it's easy to be a bounty hunter in the middle of the fucking PACIFIC OCEAN on an ISLAND

i get it. but that didn't stop the story from going the way it probably would have anyhow

and im pretty sure more than once some criminal group or person in many episodes was like
>that's that magnum guy i heard about
>oh shit

besides it's a TV show, it's not real

Magnum was a manchild loser with PTSD but TC was a successful small business owner, Rick had his club, and Higgins was a bestselling novelist incognito. And at the end Magnum grows up, finds his daughter and gets a real job. So they all turned out okay.
>>
Higgy Baby was definitely NOT Robin Masters, unless he had a penchant for imitating Orson Welles' voice.

>>533680920
If that's a spoiler you're in big trouble, buddy. I am only halfway through season 6.
>>
A few years back I was laid up after surgery and streamed the entire series. What an '80s time capsule.

It was also funny, as my aunt was living in Honolulu at the time and is an extra in about a dozen episodes. She said the cast was always fun and friendly. Why not? Get paid $$$ to make a TV show in Hawaii.

>>533680920
nigger, magum's small business was his PI firm you nitwit
>>
>>533681508
That's cool.
>>
>>533681571
Considering how he always mooched off his friends he wasn't a very successful small business owner.

>>533681201
My spoiler is that season 7 is the best, so keep watching.
>>
>>533681995
you said

>>533680920
>Magnum was a manchild loser with PTSD but TC was a successful small business owner

implying he had no business, or job, or anything to show for his life

then i informed you, you were a lying kike
>>533681571
>nigger, magum's small business was his PI firm you nitwit

now you move the goal posts

>My spoiler is that season 7 is the best, so keep watching.

i didn't SAY he was a successful business owner, i said he had one, while you made it sound like he was a destitute moocher

keep being a faggot and hating a literal TV show that isn't even real

For years I thought this gif of Idi Amin was a clip of TC for the intro to the show.
