almost everyone online that discusses nietzsche hasn't read a single goddamn thing of his and therefore completely misunderstands him

one big example: nietzsche hated christianity, NOT because he was a proto-reddit atheist, but because he felt history had shown that christianity devolves into nihilism, placing primary importance on the next life, while robbing the current life (the only one we have some evidence is "real", unlike the afterlife) of importance and meaning.

nietzsche was not a "nihilist" in the normie stereotypical sense. he believed that the ultimate goal of man should be to discern and assign his own meaning in life, and strive to achieve it. this would invariably for nearly every man involve a struggle of his own choosing, rather than simply importing someone else's belief system (such as that of an organized religion, political party, local bowling alley creed, etc.) THAT is what is meant by "moving beyond mere humanity"

The world continues to prove him right.
>>
He was a great writer, his essays are really beautiful. He might be the best German writer.

The problem is that people take him seriously. The media literacy problem. What I mean is the same thing that happens with characters like Travis from Taxi Driver or a movie that I really enjoy RED ROCKET. Raskolnikov in Crime and Punishment.

It's like reading Don Quixote and deciding to become a knight. Taking Nietzsche seriously... well, I guess if you're a 16 edgy boy who loves youtube video essays... but if you're an adult, there is something wrong with you, brother
>>
>>533688536
People proved to be uncapable of chosing or thinking for themselves. They removed Christianity out of the equation only so daddy state could dictate the morals and what you can and cannot do. Where are the briliant atheist thinkers fighting against Islamification of the UK?

>burns in hell
lmao
>>
>>533688714
are you implying Zarathushtra was some sort of satirical character?
>>
>>533688721
Nietzsche agreed with this btw. What that poster gets wrong is Nietzsche didn't think every man could create their own values. He believed only a select few were truly capable of this. By his standards we're still living in a nihilistic post-christian world. And this includes modern Christians that don't take the Bible literally.
>>
>>533687860
It's amazing fat Mexican retards on here still deny that Jesus was a Jew.
I wish I could burn these faggots alive.
>>
>>533688840
He's not implying anything. He's a standard Christcuck checking in to covertly seethe.
>>
>>533687798
Why? He's one of the greatest philosophers
>>
>>533688840
What I mean is that Nietzsche was a great writer. I really enjoy reading his prose, reading his aphorisms. But that's all. As I said, you can read Don Quixote, you can love the book, but you're not gonna become a knight, right? Same way with Nietzsche.

>>533689002
So much hostility, brother. I don't even consider myself a christian.
>>
>>533688536
He had high ideals for a drug adled sexual deviant good example of do as I say not as I do.

>>533687813
He is probably a christcuck.

Literally nobody interprets Thus Spake Zarathustra as a call to live as a hermit or watch tightrope walkers die, memeflag. Quit being a fag and just whine your whine directly so we can ignore you.
>>
>>533689683
You're simply not understanding what I'm saying. I don't know why you're so hostile. First, you accuse me of being a Christian when I'm not and now of being a fag.

Reacting that way to my words is not very Nitzschean, brother.
>>
>>533688714
Why wouldn't I take him seriously? He has many insightful things to say. Not sure what you're getting at here.
>>
>>533688984
You're just talking about groypers. o algo
>>
All I will say is that it is a mistake for society to assign that much importance to the product of a mind which was suffering that much.
If you have never been affected negatively by extended isolation and withdrawal you probably cannot understand this.
