Adm. Samuel Paparo warned Taiwan must pass its stalled $40bln special defense budget to show commitment, stating the US "cant want Taiwans defense more than they want it itself" and "dont starve the chicken."https://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/archives/2026/04/22/2003856054KMTs legislative majority (with TPP) fully stalls Lai Ching-tes $40bln defense budget. They cant push defence cooperation with the US without KMTs green light. Recent KMTs China visit shifted power balance: eroded public support for DPPs hardline, and boosted KMT ahead of 2026 locals/2028 presidential race.Meanwhile Mutts want Taiwan to turn into second Ukraine xDCNAS "Hellscape for Taiwan" report (Feb 2026) urges Taiwan to build a layered "hellscape" of large quantities of indigenous uncrewed systems (drones, USVs, UUVs) to deter invasion without relying on US forces. Recommends shifting budget from costly platforms to domestic drone production for self-sufficiency.https://www.cnas.org/publications/reports/hellscape-for-taiwanCato Institute: US industrial base is "very strained" so Taiwan must expand its own defense industry for asymmetric weapons/munitions to reduce pressure on US stockpiles. Recommends focusing sales on asymmetric items while building local capacity.https://www.cato.org/policy-analysis/taiwans-urgent-need-asymmetric-defenseThis aligns with KMT concerns: America wants Taiwan as a self-reliant "hellscape" to avoid becoming the sole arsenal amid industrial limits. US still approves some big-ticket sales (HIMARS, Javelins), but doctrine favors indigenous mass over imports.KMT sees through this and blocks $40bln US arms cooperation deal based mostly on domestic drone production. Taiwan simply doesnt want to be second Ukraine wasting itself against China in drone warfare only because the US is too weak to defend it and even supply with all the weapon it needs.
Why not just sell China semiconductor tech so they leave Taiwan alone
Ukraine doesn't want to end up like Ukraine, the fact that everyone was dumb enough to let the US set their foreign policy and sell them weapons while neglecting to protect them is hilarious. These countries have the ability to negotiate their way out of these conflicts, their regional boogeyman will still be their tomorrow the US will not.
The US needs to station a few soldiers in Taiwan to make it a target, like the Gulf states. Otherwise China will never attack.
>act like a proxy battleground without US money>ehehe we're being independent :DDDJust reunify
>>533693849Taiwan is not about semiconductors or whatever jewish neoliberal money worshipping reason you can think of. Taiwan is about blood and soil for China.

>>533693788Ukraine didn't want to end up like Ukraine either.I don't think you want to end up like Ukraine either but you're on track at full speed.
>>533695324Exactly the same "build-your-own-drones" solution is being prepared for Bolanda also known as Poland by plenty of "independent geopolitic experts" (read: paid prostitutes of the West) presenting this desperate mutt-scheme as "Polish way to status of regional power".The most important thing all these clowns forget about is that Poland (just like Ukraine) would need to become fully dependent on China in matter of tech/components/materials/rare earth elements/electronics/magnets/etc to scale up drone production to millions units per year. The West cant supply it. They also fail to mention that drone-based warfare is fkn nasty, not only for soldiers but also for civilians, and Russia - due to its huge landmass/resources and potential strategic relations with China would always have an upper hand in spreading destruction xD
>>533695531>an upper hand
>>533695531Yeah, do not build drones, just surrender to whomever attacks you. I hope we will get attacked by Nigeria though. You are far more stupid than any pacifist in existence. At least they preach "non violence". You preach pure stupidity.
>>533698399In October 2025, China increased export limits, blocked indirect routes via Poland and Baltic states, which Ukraine used to bypass direct limits on components/materials (motors, batteries, flight controllers, magnets etc) needed for mass drone production, closing its main cheaper supply channel. Ukraine and Poland cant produce millions of units a year if China curbs its regional export rules even more. Full "China-free" drones exist only in prototypes, not at mass scale due to much higher costs and very limited Western alternatives. In 2026, this creates ongoing problems in Ukraine: supply bottlenecks, price spikes and slower scaling toward millions of units annually. Recent warnings from Ukrainian producers highlight persistent risks in lithium batteries, magnets, and fibre optics, threatening production capacity amid war demands. And these problems arouse _despite_ the fact that Chinese restrictions are softcore so far. Poland can build some drones, but rather thousands than millions a year and these toys will be integrated into some Palantir shit effectively turning Poland into an expendable and fully controlled cannon fodder of USrael.I have nothing against assembling drones but integrating them into US-American systems would be very stupid imo.
we should just lease them a sub armed with nukesif we immediately gave ukraine nukes at the first sign of russian aggression they would still have crimea, peace in europe and a lot of lives on both sides would be saved
>>533693788>like ukraine Nigga it's going to be worse than ukraine if they ever engage in a war with china. Unlike ukraine which is a poor shithole connected to europe taiwan is a high tech island trapped in sea. Chinks don't need to land they will just starve them with naval blockade.>but muh asymmetric warfare They're going get raped in it too. All the temu shit will be target at them.
>>533699320I forgot to add that China did _not_ impose any restrictions on Russia, so if Russians needed, they could easly scale up their drone production even to tens of millions a year.
>>533693788Don't worry Japan will
>>533699467LOL amerimutt is acting as if article 5 is not even a thingYOU'RE ALREADY OBLIGED TO NUKE RUSSIANS IF THEY ATTACK NATO COUNTRY YOU STUPID ASSHOLE
