I think 9/11 was more structurally important than COVID because it basically realigned the world in ways which were not understood at the time but had massive ramifications. I guess COVID was similar in some ways, it accelerated existing trends, but a lot of those trends were essentially created on 9/11 or 9/11 masked them. 9/11 was truly an earth-shaking event that made the world feel like the earth's axis had tilted.
