This creates an awkward situation with a shitty cramped backseat, and a shitty cramped flatbed they never use. The flatbed only exists as a monument to his masculine deficiencies.The mindset of these people is, the bigger the car, the more manly you are. You can be 5'3" and obese, but if you have a big truck you're dominant. These guys buy lifted trucks, with huge powerful engines, which they never take offroad and just bring to the grocery store and back.To accomodate this mental disease, Texas has built all their roads 2x the size of normal. It's said that in the deep south, women choose their boyfriend based on the size of his truck, and if a girl is with a guy with a small car, her dad will be furious.

And even on roads with two lanes in each direction and a turn lane in between where there would be plenty of room for an emergency vehicle to pass, almost everyone pulls over to the side of the road.
