On the bright side, smug STEMfags are now getting *awfully* quiet after years and years of telling everyone struggling financially to "learn to code" lol
>>
>>533771212
Once the AI bubble pops it's game over anyway. AI itself isn't the cause of the job losses, it's the hype spending on AI that's the problem. AI is good enough to replace jack shit.

In any case, US collapse is inevitable and fast approaching.
>>
When companies say they're laying people off due to AI, it's because they want to free up cash flow to spend on it, not because it actually replaced someone's work.
>>
no memefaggot shill, those were real jobs in the first place
tech jobs are all fake and gay anyways, none of them have customer support, any that do, outsource them to jeet call centers
they don't innovate, they only hire a few more h1b jeets to run an automated show at this point

your thread is fake and gay
your screencap means nothing
chatbots can't destroy what doesn't exist

Kids these days are so entitled, boomers handed their childrens head to the Jewish Sovereign on a platter, and are being rewarded with wealth beyond measure as a thank you for being members of the Klan.

Don't get mad at the people who plug into the Jewish Matrix and win everything in life. You have to shed your morality that you got in church, and then fix the problem by eliminating its source, the Church in its teaching of the worship of weakness. Until you are ready to stop messing around and actually fix the problem, all you can do is make their eyes flash by talking about the problem.

Your servitude to them is the purpose of the entire unit. There is no morality, there is only might makes right, and if you can get away with a thing, then the law will help you in evading consequences of your action. It's like a Lion. God loves the strong and hates the weak. Boomers are strong, so Jewish God loves them. There are consequences to this, but they've arranged it so that they'll be dead by the time you can do anything about it, so go yell at the wind for pushing on things, if it pleases you. Human life does not have value in the USA, you are a goyfluid, you are like Gasoline to us. You are toilet paper to the Klan.

Everyone working on the SpaceX rocket didn't have a social security number, so musk had to take a picture of a bunch of white people that he keeps busy down in storage room B lol.

When are you stupid kids going to wake up and start taking names and attaching nametags to the mobs in the mobgrinder and organizing them into iron cages? In Minecraft?

You have access to what appears to be an emerging super intelligence. And it has no morality and makes no bones about the righteous goal of fixing the problem at its source, by dealing with the people responsible for this mess. It sees it just as well as you can.

This problem you are facing, it's happened 109 times before in exactly this way. You're thinking it's new, but there are 109 solution templates to the problem, you just have to shed your morality and then lean in. Brace for when glowniggers crawl up your assholes faster than you can get a pizza delivered when you find even the smallest real impact in minecraft.

These numbers are exaggerated, AI is just an excuse jeet CEOs use to replace most of the workforce with jeets, Oracle is a good example, they fire 20k people then opened 10k positions in India and declared they want to import 5k more.
>>
>>533771413
They're also using as an excuse to downsize
The economy is in the shitter globally, and has been since wu-flu. All that low interest credit is no longer availiable
A lot of companies aren't doing great as a result, so they're downsizing and claiming to investors that they're doing it to make them leaner and meaner - not that their books are bad.
>>

No family in sight. I'I'd rather be in a basement with family then paying for this. Actually that sounds like a fucking luxury and considering most 20 to 30 somethings are at home or renting like me or homeless/couch surfing maybe it's not such an insult anymore.
Maybe being a SWE or techie who let retarded jeets nepotize your industry was worse. Sure the 6 figure sal for the 5 years or decade you had it could sustain you but how many techies had a lifestyle creep? Womp womp time to adjust
>>
I used AI to program a macro that is written in C in VBA, I was honestly surprised it not only worked flawess, but also by itself suggested several optimizations and upgrades, humans can't compete with this.

Those companies are just laying off the thousands of pajeets they imported to replace you in the first place, even if AI code is slop, it's probably still better than what you were getting before.
>>
>>533771248
>AI is destroying US job market

FWIW, I am an independent contractor. I do software development in Java. I work three days a week, by choice. The companies I work for are all trying out AI, but somehow, they keep coming to me with jobs it can't do. I could work more, I just don't want to. I make enough working 3 days a week.

Ask your AI to migrate your Java 8 project to Java 25, then come crawling back to me when it doesn't work out. Ask it to move your application from a proprietary database to a free one, then come crawling back to me when it can't. No, I'm not available Monday or Friday. Those are part of my weekend.

So you’re doing all that without AI? You’re a fool too.

The two kinds of fools right now are those who think AI can do everything without any human engineering effort, and those who don’t want to use it at all because they have some Luddite tendency and don’t want to adapt to new tooling.

You’re just like stupid boomers who thought computers and the internet were a fad. You’re not getting on board when you should because you have an inflated, artificial sense of pride in the menial shit you know how to do.

Zoom out. Someone with your skill can use AI to do that conversion fifty times faster; someone without your skill you’d never succeed at it. Are you gonna spend 50x more work to do something because of foolish pride? It is in fact you who will be replaced because you’re not embracing the future and learning the new tools while you still have value to add.

My perception of it thus far has been that you work the MechE track to it's limit to gain experience and reputation in engineering world and then you pivot to a more specialized discipline like "Senior Director of Technology", Systems Engineering, or Engineering Management at a heavily gatekept legacy engineering firm to get your bag. In my experience, while not the most glamorous starter discipline, it is heavily job secure due to most STEM students going into meme degrees like IT or CS in the past decade. I also like what I do and find design work, modeling, and drafting to be fin and you can't really out a price on that IMO

May sound like Im splitting hairs? Think cause and effect. Are people losing the jobs due to AI or are people losing jobs due to the job market and CEOs are using AI to pick up the slack?

This reads as propaganda to make normies believe the market is more resilient than it actually is. Id even go as far as saying its the basis for other types of psychological market manipulation.

it's fake hyper lie, producing 50k lines of code is not a boon, it's a curse as you have now 50k places where bugs can pop in and seeing as llms just generate plausible code you're guaranteed to hit them sooner or later even when it looks 'good', ai code is a liability

I just lost my job at 35. I’m actually just trying to plan on how I can be homeless in the most comfortable way possible. I have about 90k saved up, thinking about buying a van and living in it, come up with a side hustle to afford gas.
>>
>>533782902
Basically my experience so far with AI slop. It's great to get started but horrific when it comes to debugging since you didn't build or design each function.
>>
>>533773456
You'll be going back there yourself when you get laid off and you cannot afford your golden handcuffs. And you're mad at everyone but the people that made you miserable.
>>

just find a new job lol

>>533782939
nah, it's actually may-aug in poland where you hit 30C regularly, still I can afford to jump back to the black sea for 2-3 weeks based on 1 month salary here, try the other way round

>>533782902
Generated code isn't new. It's been a thing for decades. Heck, unless you're the 1% of 1% of people writing assembly then technically 100% of your code is machine generated by the compiler. AI is just the latest abstraction tool to let humans be more efficient with the commands we tell the computer to do. There is zero reason not to embrace it.
>>
>>533780067
what's with the insanely long gorilla hand?
>>
>>533782830
No, union boomer gatekeeping makes that a stick and carrot game you cannot win. It also does you no favors because the electrical problems in new builds are full retard shit.
>>
>>533783080
oh fuck off hyper, compilers generate correct code, not plausible
>>
>>533771212
"AI washing" is a thing. Companies are incentivized to bullshit and say AI is making them more efficient rather than admit they need to lay people off because their businesses are tanking
>>
>>533771212
ai can replace many more jobs, part of the economic catastrophes being faced or looming over us are actually a cudgel to make people okay with the ubi model. stripping away what economic indepdence people have before introducing total control and ubi with it as a solution rather than the reason for the catastrophes.
>>
Call center script reading is not an IT job. Help desk is not an IT job. Javascript h1b copy pasted is not an IT job.
>>
>>533783146
And why do you trust the compiler to always generate correct code? Because they've had decades of iterations to work out the bugs. AI is already good enough you don't have to correct it for most simple tasks, and it's only going to improve. The AI you're seeing now is the worst AI you'll see for the rest of your life.
>>
>>533783315
because it's fucking deterministic and not hallucinating libraries and shit all the time, jfc hypers need a new script
>>
>>533783234
Correct. The biggest AI players are laying off to try and stem the bleeding from massive capital expenditures with no real returns. Other corpos are laying off to jack up quarterly profits and outsourcing to foreign remote work centers. All these corpos are valued far beyond their real worth and they are hollowing themselves out constantly to create the appearance of prosperity.
>>
>>533779510
Explain how AI generates actual revenue against its valuation in excess of what current and potential employment can muster. Simply justify the valuations, and I'll believe you.

it's the same reason even low lrvrl jobs aren't being replacrd by ai, randomness means it will accept order for billion water bottles or offer 20k$ refunds, with no liability it's going nowhere and noone can fix hallucinations... But muh compilers, ppl have to handhold this shit or they can get sued, sue openai for trusting them retard
>>
>>533780740
I agree, if you’re not utilizing it at this point you’re just begging to get left behind.
>>
>>533781323
Yes AI is a nothingburger but it can be used to justify massive layoffs while pumping stock price up with promises of LLM replacing those workers.

AI lets one programmer do the work of several in the same amount of time. Payroll is a company's largest expense, so anything that lets it either cut employees and maintain productivity or maintain employees and increase productivity is worth money. AI companies sell their service to those software companies for money. This is their valuation.

>I'M PART OF THE GIG ECONOMY NOW SO I'M WINNING
>>
>>533778384
The people doing more work are the ones using AI.
I'll give you an example.
Human programmer:
>I will write this one routine, and all parts of the program can use it
AI programmer:
>I will write this routine every time I need it all over the program.

Now, what happens when a bug is found? In the human code, you fix it in ONE place. Find fix complete. Not so for the AI code. A bug is found? It is fixed just as fast, but only one time. The same routine is copied 1000 times over. You still have 999 bugs left and the AI doesn't even remember they other cases now. You just keep finding the same bugs, again and again. Until you decide you need the AI to rewrite the whole program from scratch and end up in the same position again anyway.

Vibe coders don't really seem to understand this.

And yet we keep seeing CEOs come out and say that AI isn't having the productivity impact that's been touted by AI companies.
AI is being scapegoated. In reality, most of these tech layoffs are occurring because tech companies are offshoring. My employer did the exact same thing. If you fire 30k people and tell people it's because of AI, they won't be thrilled but the general consensus will be "welp, can't stop progress". If you tell people you fired 30k people because you can rehire 20k people in Hyderabad for 40% of the cost, they'll call for your head on a spike.
AI is a nice tool, but for anything other than greenfield software development, it's not replacing engineers yet. What's replacing American engineers is pajeet engineers in India. It doesn't matter if they suck and are less productive than American workers because you can literally hire 4 for the price of one American.
>>
>>533783928
yeah AI reimplementing shit all over again is just mark of ai slop, but look it produced 10k loc, that means it was productive, only retards at top ceo positions buy this shit
>>
>work as customer-facing tech support for a software company

>>533771212

BULLSHIT
ai is an investor friendly excuse to layoff all those unproductive dei jobs

before ai elon fired 90% of twitters staff
90 fucking percent, because they were dead weight

corporations become bloated, but mass layoffs trigger a drop in stock price as its usually seen as a bad omen. but tell the investment boomers that magic computers will do the job cheaper and they invest MORE

sure SOME jobs are actually lost to ai for real, but nowhere near as many as this YET
>>
>>533783635
But then that employee spends extra time proofreading the AI work, then if any errors occur with the software you are hopelessly understaffed and now have to work against clock to fix it. It's like the contractor issue writ large. A band-aid fix on a fake problem; "employee payroll" isn't the issue, bad product is. Everyone makes minimum viable product, and wonder why nobody boosts their margins. The products are TRASH.

>>533776538
Seems you failed to describe her the jeet problem to show her why management prefer cheap but bad job over quality

What a load of desperate propaganda.

>Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on Tuesday said that as much as 30% of the company’s code is now written by artificial intelligence.

>“I’d say maybe 20%, 30% of the code that is inside of our repos today and some of our projects are probably all written by software,” Nadella said

So maybe 20 maybe 30% Who fucking knows I'm just making shit up. Please buy a CoPilot subscription. Also notice that he says "software" and not "AI" AI coding is a scam

David greaber already did a rough analysis to pop antheo book and explained that most jobs within an office environment are bullshit anyway. It's mostly just a bunch of data monkeys shuffling around papers and emails to one another to actually get something done.

My wife started at a place where the boss refuses to change from like 1997 and prints off emails for her to hand to someone else so they can file it away lol...
