Kristian, 33, fell with his bike and got a surface wound on his leg, a piece of skin was torn off

But it did not bleed profoundly

Still he died

https://www.is.fi/urheilu/art-2000011966952.html

He went to a clinic to show the wound and asked if needs stitches or will it heal anyway.

But the nurses said "that's a fucked up flesh eating disease on your leg"

He was transferred to emergency care unit.
He was injected with whole lot of antibiotics

A few days later he died.

There is no mention of anyone being suspected of medical malpractice.

A guy down here injured his eye, which was fixable. But after he went into hospital it became infected and subsequently had his eye removed. The staff that treated him at first were all non-White foreigners, typical third world practice of killing patients with their shit covered hands.

Nursefag here. We do skin surveys at work where they culture our body's flora, and surprise surprise, most nurses/doctors are crawling with antibiotic resistant pathogens. Now think of the beds, equipment, furniture, etc. The hospital is a last resort, anons. If you can get a doc to write you a script over the phone and avoid coming in, do it. Labs and xray/CT, or genuine "I'm undebateably going to die" emergencies are the only reason you should be coming in to the hospital, period. Hell, a lot of labs can be drawn at home and sent in via mail these days.
>>

TRANSLATION:
Colombian professional cyclist Cristian Camilo Muñoz crashed during the Tour du Jura in France last Saturday, injuring his knee. He died on Friday from medical complications, AS reports .
Muñoz, 30, fell during the race and suffered a cut to his left knee. He was initially treated at a local health center, according to the newspaper.
– When the team arrived in Oviedo, Spain, Cristian's condition was reassessed at the clinic, where medical staff discovered a difficult-to-treat infection that required special care, a statement from the Nu Colombia cycling team said.
– In the last hours, his condition deteriorated, and despite all the efforts of the medical team, Cristian died on Friday morning.
Nu Colombia withdrew from the Vuelta a Asturias, during the second stage of which a minute's silence was held in Muñoz's honor.

People go for a swim, and end up with an amoeba eating their brains. Go for a walk and get ticks. Kennedy has a worm in his skull for years because he ate pork.

Shit happens. Nature, uh, finds a way.

I got in a brawl saturday night and my eyebrow diverged. I spent 10 hours in emergency because emergency considers this an irrelevant injury, which is not wrong. I was so scared some nasty bugs would infect the open wound but I was lucky.

you do not go there, just desinfect at home, unless needs stiches
hospitals are leading causes of sepsa and gangrene plus increased chance to get drug resistant infection
and after covid it's obvioous majority of them are retards

I work with a guy who got jabbed in the shin with a piece of hay,and nearly lost his leg because of the resulting staph infection. His leg turned purpley-black right up to his thigh. It made me pretty paranoid for a while.

sepsis is a bitch. happens so quickly. did they not have a medical team with them? sounds odd for a tour, especially in a civilized region.
>>

Something similar almost happened to me. Had an industrial accident and wound up with 3 deep puncture wounds and a broken ankle. One split a vein wide open, but I was misdiagnosed as having an abrasion, went back and was "diagnosed properly" but they didn't actually change my record and claimed I had no broken bones. Ended up going again because the wound had turned black and they ran an mri and misdiagnosed me as having flesh eating bacteria because the punctures had pockets of gas in them and nobody knew they were punctures. My kids were crying because they outright said I had flesh eating bacteria and would either die or lose my foot in front of them and my wife. To this day I have no feeling in my right foot aside from one spot that hurts like crazy when I touch it or just randomly, workers comp guy is ghosting me and lawyers have said I have to case for compensation. I walk with a fucking limp some days.
'murrica.

Was also on an antibiotic drip for roughly 18 hours, just adding info. I hadn't even heard of half the things they were pumping into my veins and my digestive system is still fucked almost a year later. Fuckers shot me up with opiates and only told me what it was after the fact, and I'm still getting fucking bills over this because the workers comp insurance guy ignores their calls and refuses to approve several of the treatments. I hate this fucking system.
>>
>>533798846
could have been a strep or staph infection. terrible that they didn't treat the wounds properly, but as someone said above, hospital is even more dangerous than the great outdoors, as it is where you get infected with resistent bacteria. try get a (((lawyer))) and sue. they'll probably argue the misdiagnosis wasn't their fault, but the accident happened at work, which makes them liable for the consequences. there should be some jew who does it pro bono, aka wanting a share of comp.
>>

yep, someone should have disinfected the wound immediately. sounds like he encountered a lot of incompetence. even amputation might have saved him. then again it all happens very quickly. once something bad is in your blood circulation you're basically a goner.
>>

I'm planning on getting a referral to a neurologist soon, but I have to get the doctor they specified to agree to it. I can only go to another doctor on their insurance if it's an emergency and the guy they picked absolutely can't handle it in time. Totally fucked system, they just ride the timer out and make excuses any time I call trying to schedule something, and in roughly 3 months the case is closed permanently.
>>
>>533800716
nerves may be destroyed already. not feeling your foot indicates something along the line. the neurologist will suggest physio and further prolong the process. i'd contact a lawyer if that is possible at all without requiring some huge retainer.

Yeah, chronic cellulitis. I've only waited so long because many doctors, especially the ones that work within workers comp networks, will just keep telling you "wait x amount of months, it's probably normal," but it's been well over any timeframe I've found and keeps getting worse. I could at least feel my toes a few months back, now I can barely walk a couple of days out of the week and it's oddly not the side with the fracture and punctures that acts up. Thanks for hearing me out, and for the advice, this just sucks so much and it happened so fast it doesn't feel real on good days, just no parsing something like this being so quick and irreversible.
>>
>>533789961
Yeah sometimes random rocks and shit in the middle of a woods have rare bacterial blooms that consume flesh. That's nature.
>>
>>533801607
damn, so sorry to hear this. waiting with such is never a good idea. way you descibe it you may already be severely disabled. pls go and get help.
>>
>>533801808
they live on your skin though and in your mouth. only correct way is to immediately disinfect. hydrogenperoxyde was mentioned. iodine would have helped as well.
>>
>>533789961
How improbable is this in Finland? Here in the Gulf there's a huge issue with dangerous bacteria in the stagnant water pools.
>>533790653
Also, taking pets to the vet is the fastest way to spread disease I've ever fucking seen. Staff take nearly 0 effort to mitigate contagious illness and they'll make excuses if you press them about it. Like can you vet staff at least wear a plastic liner that you disinfect between visits ffs? Most vet clinics are in the fucking dark ages
