I was just watching these videos of an Asian pickup artist in Thailand. He picked up a lot of pretty girls, including a bunch of British ones. I didn't really care about it, but then there's this video where he is talking to a girl who looks really sweet, and then it cuts to them making out in a nightclub where loud music is playing. It felt like my heart had been stabbed or something. It was a painful physical reaction to the sight. It wasn't that he was Asian really I don't think, just the sight of two people kissing and smiling made me wince and feel terrible. It's been so long since I felt that, and even then it was brief and ended terribly. A lot of the time I don't think about loneliness, or just try to accept it, but then I see a video of two people kissing and I feel so terrible. I really hate my life, both what it has been and what it is now. I'm not very good at living. If I could have another chance maybe I would make better decisions, but as things are I just have a lot of regret and missed opportunities. Now I'm getting old, I can really feel it these days. But I don't see the point in just growing old and living the way I have been, it just causes so much pain and once in a while I really feel it.

My life has been so lonely and miserable. From about the age of twelve or thirteen I became very nervous, neurotic, anxious and depressive. It won't change. That is unless I do something drastic to correct the course of my life, but really I think it's probably too late now. I walk around the supermarket in silence with a blank expression and return to my room. Nothing happens, time passes, and the pain I have inside of me, which emerges from time to time in the form of anger and despair, just spreads through me, digs deeper into me. For a lot of my life I feel like I've been banging on a glass wall hoping the people on the other side of it will let me in to their happy world.

I think I was good looking at one point in my life, maybe around 20-25. There were some girls who showed interest in me, but I just lacked whatever it took to approach them. I think a part of me always felt as though sex was wrong, or unethical, or something imposed on women. Maybe consciously I didn't think that, but I felt that if they knew I wanted to have sex with them (as well as be in a relationship, get to know them, etc) they would think I was creepy and weird. I don't know why I felt like that, but I just couldn't treat anything lightly or casually. The idea of casual sex is entirely foreign to me. Earlier this year I went on holiday. An attractive girl in her early 20s invited me to join her table in a restaurant, and proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions about myself, encouraged me to keep talking when I stopped out of fear of being autistic or dominating the conversation, and was generally very warm and enthusiastic. I think at a certain point she must have had the realisation that I wasn't going to flirt with her, or that I didn't know how, and when we parted ways it was quite awkward. I think the natural thing in that situation would have been to flirt, but it is so unnatural to me. I enjoyed talking to her, but I'm not good at flirting. Maybe it's because on some level I just don't feel convinced that I have anything of any substance to offer a girl and that it's better for me to remain at a distance rather than disappoint her further down the line. I'm really sad that I've never loved anyone, or been loved by them. I would like to experience love before I die.

I'm in deep pain emotionally. At this point I have pretty much mastered wearing a blank, unshakeable expression of detached self-contentment, but I am aching for human connection and to be vulnerable and loving towards someone who understands me and loves me, and who I can learn to love and understand. I would try not to be all emotional about it if I did meet someone, I would try be a strong person for her. I had one girlfriend but it lasted less than a year and there were details involved which made it such that it was difficult to tell how much of her affection was genuine and how much was expressed in order to get more security in her life by being with me. I don't mean to sound rude or paranoid saying that, but it was obviously the case and she acknowledged as much sometimes. I tell myself that I shouldn't be needy for love, that I should be content and purposeful and that a relationship should be something a man should be able to take or leave. But I always return to weird kind of place of desperation and pathetic longing, along with a mindset of near scarcity and borderline despair. If I met someone and I could tell she respected me, was attracted to me, appreciated me, enjoyed my company, loved me, and I felt the same way towards her, my life would definitely change. That may sound pathetic, but I'm sure it would. I would even have children with her if she wanted them. I'm very sad these days although I know action is needed to turn things around.
