If you're stuck in decision paralysis it's because all the choices are jeet shit. Then the decision process becomes won of not making a decision right now in hopes alternatives arise, or making the least jeet shit decision you can at that point in time.

Seems like most of the world just chooses the latter and everything else is the cascade aggregate result making the world even shittier.

I find that we will resist and overthink any change, but when it happens, you will feel kind of silly for stressing so much. This goes for everything from very small changes to life changing things. Good luck. It's not easy and most people won't understand it.

You know that feeling you get when the thought hits? Its the same every time, isn't it?
The worst is going to happen. If I don't do this, the worst is going to happen. I have to check. I have to double-check with everyone who will listen. Its really going to happen this time because I won't do the ritual, or I'll just ignore the thought, and THIS TIME it will happen!

It won't. It won't because it never fucking does. How many times have you felt like this, the spiral? And how many times has the thing happened, or if it did happen, how bad was it really?

Not to say terrible things will not happen, but how many times have you felt the compulsion compared to how many times have you actually faced the horrible, horrible outcome?

Shut up! Shut the fuck up, fucking brain! It never shakes out like that and YOU KNOW IT!!
You can run the scenarios all you want and it WILL NOT HAPPEN! So I am just not going to listen.

For OCD you can group situations that cause OCD by different levels of anxiety. Then you start with the easiest situations and engage in them without doing compulsions. You slowly get towards the most difficult ones, until you can do everything wtihotu engaging in a complusion.

A small trick that helps is delaying compulsions. Say you think about something horrible and you feel like you must do a certain ritual to prevent that from happening. Delay the ritual. By a few seconds, minutes or even hours. If you still do the compulsion, you didn't lose more. However you may see that the urge to do the compulsion went down or you could have forgotten about it entirely.

Also get your blood values checked. You may have some defficiencies that can fuck you over. Low Vitamin D and low Testosterone can make OCD a lot worse for example.
Some supplements help greatly in reducing OCD symptoms.

Forgot to mention but meditation and mindfulness helps a ton. If you don't overthink thoughts and can just let them pass, your symptoms will get a lot better.
