People call him a traitor and villain, but he literally created a meritocracy, great public infrastructure works, welfare, schooling etc meanwhile Shufags want to uphold an old corrupt decrepit aristocracy that literally sells of Government positions to the highest bidder, purely out of misguided notions of filial piety to Liu Bang and the dynasty he created.
>>
>Be China 260 BC in Battle of Changping
>120,000+ Qin soldiers vs 40,000 Zhao soldiers holed up in a stronghold
>After 40 days Zhao surrenders, complete defeat
>Qins accepts terms of surrender to get the Zhao soldiers to come out of the fortress and as soon as the last living soldier leaves Qins general issues an order
>Order: Gather up all Zhao citizens in the surrounding villages and bring them to the fortress ASAP and while they wait for them to get there he orders his remaining soldiers to begin digging a massive ditch
>Qins general then orders his soldiers to push all of the Zhaos into the ditch and bury them alive
>475,000 buried alive in a single day
>Greatest atrocity ever committed in human history

Was Qin right? Was being ruthless to that degree the correct decision?

Great victory unlocked

Sima Yi wins though and is the true protege of Cao Cao. Remember Cao Cao didn't want a dynasty of his own, basically hated his kids and never coup'd the royal family, instead just yeeted them to a ceremonial position.

My girlfriend literally cried when it finished because she said it was the greatest thing she's ever watched.
Waiting for the 1990s translation to be completed, can't wait to see 1990s version of the Zhuge Liang diss track against Wang in all it's glory.
Also if anyone has a copy of King's War that is watchable, please throw it up on torrent.

Cao Cao was revered for a thousand years and the dynasty his son (Cao Cao himself remained loyal to the decaying dynasty) made was considered legitimate up to the 13th century.
It's only in Ming's time in the 14th century that history was rewritten to make Cao a semi-villain with loads of fake news (most famously the anti-historical romance of three kangdoms), because the Ming dynasty felt they needed to suck the cock of Liu Bei/Shu in order to secure alliance from families and provinces that claimed to be linked to him.
Literally falling for 600 year old state psyops.

If you believe the romance. Liu Bei was backstabbing coward who got lucky. He only wanted more power for himself.

I don't think it's mentioned in the novel but he burned a lot of people alive. He was a very cruel man. Liu Bei being a paragon of virtue is pure propaganda tho you are right about that.

I also prefer 94 but besides the big story beats, their focus is very different at times. Both are great. 2010 has some cool, albeit strange, fighting. The 94 has great music and songs. The guy playing Zhang Fei in the 94 show died a year or two ago btw. The bridge scene in 94 is much better I think. Ripperino.

Oh and it's not called Guan Yu temple btw. It's South mountain temple or something like that I forget. But it's themed around Guan Yu obviously. Cool place to stop by on your way to the train station since it's right next to it almost.

What other great quotes?
>I would rather betray the world, than let the world betray me.
And the whole bit about Cao Cao not changing but his friends perception of him changing is kino, but I can't quote it.

What the fuck even is this thread? At this point I'm inclined to believe nonwhite countries are more white than formerly "white" countries. Nah seriously what are you chinks talking about?

Oh. Yeah I don't know man. Maybe more context would help solve that one. But don't forget these people were extremely superstitious. It wouldn't surprise me if you had to know the location of Jupiter in the night sky, as well as wether or not a rooster was seen in a strange place two weeks prior, to be able to discern good and evil.

Cao cao will always be bae and an inspiration to all men of talent
Wei is number 1, Shu sucks and Wu who?
>>
>>533824185
General rule of thumb is that you take ancient battles and related figures with a grain of salt regardless. It's not even necessarily the people back then that lied, but for example in OP's case:
>the court historians of Shu/Wei/Wu record the events in a biased way
>unrelated to this, the local populations pass on histories orally, as travelling troubadours and early Chinese theatre
>≈1300 years later, a guy with obvious Shu bias writes (an arguably pretty good for it's time) novel based on the mix of the two, while adding his own anime tier fantasy to it (Zhuge Liang and summoning storms of fire? Really?)
>so now everyone things that Cao Cao killed 473736363647 billion people (raping the women personally either before, after or during doing so, but strictly the married ones)
>etc
Regardless,
>>533819830
I accept Mengde in my heart as the true and rightful prime minister of the Han. Shame his dynasty didn't work out :(
