This also includes the size of the portions.Secondly, there is the question of corn syrup (also shown in the image above). Corn syrup may not be inherently bad on its own but since Americans add it to literally every dish, it affects their health negatively and accumulates in body fat. This is exacerbated by the fact that every drink, from soda to what they call ""coffee" and ""tea"" are so full of sugar their viscosity is somewhere closer to olive oil. Not good.Thirdly, there is the sedentary lifestyle they lead. America is the land of car culture, which means whenever you have to go anywhere you don't actually walk, but rather sit in an (xxl-sized) automobile. Nuff said.Finally, there is the issue of carb-heavy, unhealthy foods (such as those in your pic) being cheaper than the healthier ones (non-gmo, farm-grown veggies, fresh fruit and red meat). So while it's counterintuitive, but poor people tend to be fatter than the rich. Funny when you think of it like that. As our economies reel from the shocks due to shipping disruption and oil crisis, our populations will become fatter before the starvation begins.
