The only thing Russia demanded after the orange revolution in Ukraine is that people in Donbass would be allowed to speak Russian and vote. This was a civilized compromise documented and agreed by all sides. It turned out after 8 years nobody really planned to follow the agreement and the west was using the time to stuff Ukraine with weapons so it can fight once Russia realizes she was scammed. For some reason the west though Ukraine would win. Now we have 50 years war that will end up with total destruction of Europe, permanent this time. What causes this?
I seriously doubt that there were ever language police patrolling to make sure that people weren't speaking Russian
