Romney was an intentional setup to lose by TPTB, just run 'generic worst guy to ever exist' and give obama an easy second term. The problem was that in 2012 people were so fed up with obama's shit and the governments shit and every single politicians' shit that they didnt care and romney was getting numbers just for being an honest about his status as a shitty powergrubbing politician. TPTB had to go almost completely mask off and have romney torpedo his campaign and then fall off the face of the earth for the entire 3week critical period before the election in order to convince the average pleb that the majority of people didnt obviously prefer him to obama.
