Okay so what was GATE all about?
GATE makes you GAY like JAY
if GATE so good why no GATE 2
>>533955561It was called the Explorer's Program in Washington State. They'd pull the special kids away and get out those Akira headphones
I was in gate grade 6-9. Maybe different here in Canada but the pink juice headphones psychic tests stuff is all bullshit. What it actually did was enabled me to “learn at my own pace” and “explore my own interests”, but I had no interests and was lazy so I just fucked around and got away with it. Do nothing in class, never do homework, get a high enough mark on tests to pass, good enough I guess.
Why is one anon so obsessed with this GATE stuff I think the truth was these programs were for children with learning disabilities and they named it Gifted or whatever to not hurt their feelingsLike yeah everyone was good at passing tests but otherwise in real world skills they bordered on mentally retarded and incapable Then there was kids with behavioral problems that would disrupt class and they tried to funnel them into this so they could give the normal students a breakThat mundane explanation makes so much more sense it’s like this one anon doesn’t want to own up to being a tard, just own up to it who cares how does it effect your adult life
>>533955561GATE was a vain attempt to take particularly intelligent or talented children and give them advanced education so they could express their abilities properly without being held back by the plebs. Unfortunately teachers are just as retarded as anyone else so those kids ended up becoming isolated freaks that got singled out and left to finger paint until high school. It takes a genius to challenge a genius.
>gateits a false memory experiment, you failed or passed depending how u see it.
>>533955561You won’t be breathing
>>533956133No. Gate, like TAG, and all the other Tavistock selection programs was a grooming tool for new blood in leadership roles. You were tested for intelligence, and social queues, but also for obedience and any signs of psychic ability. If you were deemed useful you were fast tracked into assorted junior govt or science roles and sorted accordingly, if you were not, you were returned to the gen pop. "Genius" wasn't the primary pick, obedience was.
>>533956385That would make a lot more sense if the results were different. Pretty much everyone that was involved in such programs ended up being failures or plainly mediocre as their child genius petered off.
>>533955561Are you talking about the anime or the after school program?
>>533955561Figuring out who the future revolutionaries would be, and then giving them anti-kryptonian handling so they become ass-pliable for college initiations
>>533956385we had some future-whatever it was group like that but it was more social and after school oriented. gate was weekly during school hours and out of all i can remember and find pretty much all but myself wound up pretty successful science/tech achievers. maybe a slightly less number of non-gate students turned out as well out of my classes but there weren't a whole lot of what i'd call surprises. the kids who were doing very well ,specifically in math with either parental help or who were just plain smart in most cases, kept on doing well.
>>533956677>after schoolWhat? We had gifted programs they were accelerated learning no extra time required. You faggots stayed after school? AHAHAHAHAHAHA FAGGOTS
GATE threads are easily the most cringe topic on /pol/
