Throws, jabs, up air , drill kicks , pound for shield breaks, F smash for deleting stocks, rest . Only low tier puff gamers do nothing but wall of pain people and even then thanks to the physic of the game engine using a fair below the ledge to gimp someone is very different than carrying someone off the side with it. generally in a smash game the only moves that are just a single move are jabs, other moves are multiple moves in one due to hitboxes , sweetspots and timing. an issue with modded smash in general is lack of character archetype diversity. You get a ton of middle weight anime characters with well rounded kits that include a fireball. Very few mods create new space animal type characters - one exception is chibi robo in ssf2 who falls fast as fuck. Characters tend to be very floaty due to internalized mental prejudices from playing brawl and the bamco smash games. PM lucas has alot of space animal aspects in him too. I tend to play alot of the pokemon just beacuse they are very distinct characters. Zard and Mewtwo are fun. the best zard player in PM was kysce and he mostly spammed nair - i rarely used nair but I could zero to death anyone using the rest of my kit. I enjoy shulk alot too with his jump monado - aerial supremacy is one of my favorite mechanics
>>533992885Nah I hate tourneyplay I'm totally designing my game around it, I legitimately laughed when someone threw a crab at HBox cause honestly puff is lame and a lot of people in the early tournament scene agreed and thought she should be banned. Puff's only strong when using forward air for deleting stocks because of the subtle stale move mechanic, if you never use your smash moves, they're going to be powerful. For me building damage with smash moves is the funnest part of the game and I like the high risk reward, building and taking damage is what makes it fun for me, not zero-to-death or watching your character get owned unable to do anything. I can counter-pick Puff with Young Link because they have similar styles that can be exploited meaning running away and hiding, being hard to hit, YLink has the boomerang to accurately hit Puff but to me having to spam boomerang to get her to knock off the running isn't worth it. I prefer to counter attacks with smash moves like Up Smash to beat flying fairs, nairs and bairs.
