I was doing some very very high iq deep thinking and it just hit me.Foreign investment actually weakens the economy of recieving country. Sure, the GDP numbers may balloon up in the sky but it's all because of inflation. Recieving foreign investment is equivalent to printing money out of thin air. This explains why despite printing money in 2020, USD went up and INR went down. Furing corona, lots of sillicon valley codejeets returned to India for the lockdown and invested in Indian silicon valley real estate (bangalore). Before Covid, the apartments costed like somaliland (although rents were superhigh because of native codejeets). And after those OCIjeets/NRIjeets invested in bangalore the apartments doubled, tripled in prices due to excess flow of capital. Did these investments improve the lives of average middle class jeets? Ofcourse not. It just caused inflation.(side note: lots of labour class people from northern states also go to Bangalore and surrounding areas to work in construction and they turned their lives around back home with that cash. Labour costs have skyrocketed and they don't even pay taxes so they're now richer than entry level codejeets and many middle class jeets across the country. This has decimated the fabric of indian society and ethical values that only middle class possesses.)
