Purity is the virtue which struggles against DISORDERED DESIRES. The ‘pure in heart’ are those who have attuned their intellects and wills to the demands of God’s holiness - chiefly in three areas: charity, chastity, and love of truth. Chastity is treating an individual as a person to be loved rather than a thing to be used.Purity guides how one looks at others and behaves toward them in conformity with the dignity of persons. It requires a purification of the social climate by means of a CONSTANT STRUGGLE against moral permissiveness that is founded on an erroneous conception of human freedom.Purity of intention: We can be Christians, at least in name, but lead double lives.
