Girls would sit with me and pretend I was deep and insightful and drool over me as I was(am) a tall handsome strapping brooding young buck, such sessions were usually pregames for parties, shows, going to the club - in an American suburb there is no place for 18-22 year olds to hang out unless a friends apartment or their parents are out of town or some ticketed event, so we'd meet at these diners. There was often a crew of over a dozen of my friends there at a time, mix of boys and girls, lots of hooking up within the friend group... this before the hipster era, but I guess we were proto-hipsters although in actuality we were just stoner partiers, and anons - it was glorious, the end of an era before everything was fake and gay, the last spill over of the real world of the 20th century to the fake and gay 21st, and I wouldn't trade that time for anything in the whole fucking world.
