Is trying to reduce the suffering of the world a reasonable goal? Or does it sound retarded and childish? Maybe it has to be done for: 1) before it spreads to all humans, 2) to find someone to help me if I go into deep suffering!
>>
How though? If you're hungry and passing by, I'll give you a sandwich. But what else can one do?

Humans alone, via innovation and technology, are capable of attaining this noble goal, however as Objectivism teaches, this cannot be achieved through Altruism (as the failure of communism proves beyond all doubt), but only by the continued advancement of the mind and consciousness of Man, with the aim of creating and fulfilling the benevolent ideals his mind alone can conceive, unencumbered by the prejudices of the idle and weak (although often well-intentioned) minded. Men such as myself who pursue the light of truth and seek to bring its visage into being, though all the world stands against me.

>reduce the suffering of the world
That's a nice objective, but people need to recognize the limits and scope of their influence on the world.
You're far better doing it through family and local community connections.
Leftists are deluded into thinking this can only be done by pulling the levers of power. They becoma obsessed with making changes far, far outside of their sphere of influence. It's idealistic and naive.
This is why leftists look so crazy to us. They become obsessed with this big story of broader civilization and think these changes come top-down. It's ruining the world.

life isnt about comfort but about egalitarian struggle and direct meaning from actions
>>
>>534048624
No. You will get so much resistance it's useless. For some reason people will fight for their right to suffer. It's strange, i don't get it.

Only technology and the advancement of technology has ever alleviated suffering. Running water, plumbing, heat and air conditioned, electricity, penicillin, painkillers, advancements in production efficient and methods of food and goods to alleviate hunger, poverty, sickness, - the list is endless, and though altruist in nature, it is a self-evident UNDISPUTABLE FACT that suffering has only ever been truly alleviate by the advancement of technology, born out of the minds of MEN who conceived such noble visions and after a lifetime of acquiring the skills, studying, working ceaselessly, were able to produce the results that we all benefit from to this very day, hour, minute, second. The foundations of civilizations since the stone age were only ever the advancements of Mankind's tools. So never doubt the power of your mind (it's the only thing in the universe you have any real control over).

>egalitarian struggle
No. Egalitarianism is a false god. There is a person to whom you are inferior in every way.
>>
I don't care about the world. I want to reduce my own pain and suffering, I want to flourish in my own country. But politicians have other ideas

>hunger
Just a transient condition. If you're never hungry, you're a glutton. If you mean starvation then why should I take your premise seriously? Humans with relatively low populations as hunter-gatherers had more food security (and better nutrition) than the "more advanced" agricultural peasants. Animals who don't even have tools if they remain within the environmental constraints general has no shortage of food.
>poverty
Nothing wrong with poverty. What's wrong is pigeon-holing people into being unable to meet their needs without being entirely in your system since the technocratic church whose high priests demand control of everything.
>sickness
Random disease is the only thing that makes sense to worry about ONLY IF PEOPLE ARE ALREADY RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO NOT OVERREPRODUCE. But there are groups of people; Chinese, Indians, spics, and Niggers, who are still overreproducing and currently are causing problems in the west.
>suffering
Suffering is a state of mind. It is not identical to pain or physiological discomfort. Only humans can suffer because only humans have the mind capable of dwelling on things. You only wish to eliminate discomfort even though discomfort is often quite good for you. The pain of proper exercise is something to overcome and the overcoming will eventually result in being stronger. The pain of hard labor utilizes the body and if productive exposes the mind to the sense of accomplishment.
>technology, born out of the minds of MEN who conceived such noble visions and after a lifetime of acquiring the skills, studying, working ceaselessly
In other words men who chose to suffer instead of indolently indulging in comforts. They choose to suffer to minimize discomfort without considering the damage their methods end up doing as a side effect. We can have more of the natural discomforts or we can have the far worse discomforts from the damage they caused.

thats because humans are easy to forget and are dickheads also islam , christianity , judaism , buddism , communism and everyone followed it en-mass ... because eveyone knows deep down that dissipating suffering for everyone in society is the ultimate moral truth...there was times when no one was inferior usually in the start of revolutions or a new religion forming but sadly it decays , but hope does show when suffering is most intense
>>
>>534048624
If we just stop the power mad and billionaires who are CAUSING suffering in the world, everything else should fall into place.
>>
>>534051946
I agree but the thing is, we will die out one day if we don't leave this planet
>>
>>534048624
Nope, it's a very bad plan and will end in an apocalypse not only for human but for the whole planet. Just stop feeding, healing caring about every piece of shit everywhere on this planet. Understand that your spezies is like the bubonic plague for this planet, at least give it a little chance to heal it self and get rid of the overload of humans every now and then.
