My mom has a Samsung and I was confused when she asked me to help her when she found out Samsung messages was getting discontinued, because evidently she never even used it in the first place and was already using Google's. I'm gonna guess it's getting discontinued because Google's has already the default app for quite some time and no one used Samsung's.
