Depends on what you mean by collapse. We dont really have any examples of a "collapse" in the modern world except for the collapse of Palestinian society over the past century. The USSR didnt really "collapse", it just changed government and became Russia. There seems to have been a collapse of rural eastern european society between 1914 and 1945 in certain ways, but it's kind of difficult to process. Certainly the ancient jewish societies of eastern europe collapsed. The british and french empires collapsed, but not the home nations themselves, just their colonial outposts. The parallels with Palestine are striking. They were not in charge at any point of the process, much as indigenous westerners are quite out of control today. And many of them welcomed the jews in at first, or profited by selling them land.

I think that this is worth fighting over terms about, because the big question "When is society going to collapse?" Well, if we take as an example Palestinian society, we can see that it has collapsed over around a century, and it is still extant, but presumably not for very long. So there would be no moment when Palestine collapsed, but rather a long drawn out process.
