The global economy is missing about 1 billion barrels of oil and counting. This is going to have an effect. It may not be a depression but I think it's quite possible that there'll be a recession in many parts of the world, caused by demand destruction.

Fertilizer market is completely fucked and many places have failed to get the required fertilizers for the next crop and thus next season the production will be considerably lower if viable at all.
This paired with higher fuel costs will make the food prices to not only go up because moving them from farms to the market but also because fuel is required for planting and harvesting plus the added cost of lower production thus increasing the demand with no real way to increase supply.
If food prices skyrocket then everything else go up with it and everything will go up worldwide.
We will see if the fertilizer crisis will turn into poorer places in the world or not but it's a very likely possibility, which then in turn increase migration from these poor regions to countries that can afford the higher fertilizer costs.
Chip manufacturing is also taking a beating and given that the current burger market and the stock market run on Ai hopium, then being hit with the inability to produce new chips due to the helium shortage, then the entire burger stock market will take a severe hit as well which will hit other parts of the economy.

Remember when there was a shortage of chips because taiwan was having a drought?
This shit is way worse because there is no actual replacement for like 70% of all the helium used in taiwanese chip manufacturers. It "could" be acquired from somewhere else but the problem is that there is not enough industry elsewhere to supply this demand just yet because why the fuck would you even invest in backups elsewhere and keep them on the red until you actually need to jumpstart that production in case of emergencies like this

Bro we literally put this shit in party balloons.
In Australia we flare the helium away when extracting natural gas, because it's not profitable enough to capture at the moment.

>>
>>534087218

you need pure helium for stuff like the chip tech
>>
>>534087370
Smells like muss in here
>>
>>534087372
That's an outcome of the refining process.
People in this thread are worried about production.

If helium price increases, Australia could start producing it again (we used to, until recently).
>>
>>534086823
The price of graphics cards just got ten feet higher
>>
>>534087218
Yea but that shit is not pure high quality helium. That's a mix and it's expensive to get the proper equipment to separate it from the mix and make proper pure helium.
Thats the whole problem. While you can get helium elsewhere, very few places right now can produce lab grade helium for precision industries and there is no way to ramp up production elsewhere because there was no insentive before and thus no such plants were made and will take years to make to cover for the current demand.
>>534087203
There is already a strong pro chinese movement withtin the current taiwanese opposition plus china has been helping taiwan during this crisis. Trying to be the good neighbor and all that.
>>534087300
Yes but what I mean that taiwan got 70% of their high purity helium from the ME, or so I heard.
Taiwan being one of the biggest chip producers in the world would mean that the supply will be lower and demand will go higher without the right amount of helium in the market. Taiwan would just buy from elsewhere at any price and thus it will be a shortage somewhere else if the supply is not stabilized to meet the demand. And we already stablished you can't just increase the supply magically for such world wide demand.

There will be price increases in the short run, for sure.
In the long run, all that stuff is actually good, it is forcing countries to reconsider if it makes sense having so many resources come through that choke point.

In Australia we're starting oil production again, and I think we're actually going to restart helium production too (there are already talks about that).
We already do LNG, but we're not Qatar obviously. Still we have the biggest floating LNG facility in the world, which is pretty cool.

The world has a lot of spare production capacity because most countries with oil can't export it cheaply enough to compete with OPEC prices.

Gas prices going up and staying there just creates incentives for non-OPEC oil to increase production to meet the demand and eventually level things out. The biggest disruptions are in supply chains, as undiversified economies overly reliant on OPEC have to find new business partners and businesses that relied on cheap gas have to adjust their budgets to less cheap gas. It's not some kind of apocalyptic shortage.

Iran won't do shit. See how Yanbu and Fujairah have been operating perfectly fine this entire war?
>>
>>534089884
It increases the time of construction, significantly, and at a minimum triples costs. Good luck find a crew willing to do that while getting shasneeds pegged at them.

Nope. Your colleague is just retarded, Eglin.

technically illegal, but who's going to prosecute the royal family?

GCC countries are rich as fuck. This closure will cost them hundreds of billions. They will spend at least that much to prevent this from ever happening again. They had so much money they didn't know what to do with it before

Now do a 20 foot hole X 1600 kms long. (distance from Doha to Jerusalem.) While iranians drone you.

We're talking about post-war pipeline efforts btw. Iran has already allowed Saudi and UAE to build alternate pipelines and keep them operational, they'll of course allow more.
>>
>>534090034
They were about to invest $2T in AI data centers and built a mile long city for no reason. They have money coming out the ass lmao
>>
>>534090057
No, WE are talking about bypassing a blockaded SoH with a magical instantaneous perfectly protected pipeline. YOU are in here trying to cover for the fucktardedness of your coworker.

You got the media talking how would Iran react if Trump declared a victorious TACO to retreat

It's also above ground, mostly. It gets buried by sand storms often. Not that digging through sand is all that hard but still.
>>
>>534089958
They'd hit them too in the migger scenario where Saudi Arabia relocates all their oil infrastructure and everyone bypasses the Persian Gulf. Frankly, they might still strike there (or try to) if Trump goes ahead with Power Plant Day. Iran is holding back because they want to keep mutually assured destruction on the table as a threat. If Iran already had done so, they would have no more cards to play to negotiate their way out of being invaded.

The IRGC, and israel won't allow the clown to retreat, claim victory and invade weaker nations to boost morale

I want to personally thank the kikes for this conflict. I really like things happening and not being good. I like wars and catastrophes, because this world is genociding white people of European descent. I want more wars, plagues, and disasters. It would be better the world is destroyed than that we go extinct.

>helium is used in chip manufacturing by all countries not just Taiwan.
TSMC does 55% of global semiconductor manufacturing.
So just over half of all chips in the world come from a fab in Taiwan
